Why are people hating Alvarez beyond trolling I don't know. 1. He's like 21 years old. 2. He's an undefeated world champion. 3. He's fighting recognized and respected fighters already. 4. He isnt arrogant or cocky. Ok, I want to see him do great a bit more than others, but seriously there is literally no reason to hate him.

 

I like this fight a lot. Rhodes is a warrior with some good assets, he's not on Canelo's level but he is a live dog and is the kind of fight Canelo needs at this point. I love this fight. Plus he's the mandatory and has been at 154 doing well and waiting for this shot.

I watched the fight, and it wassent like he was going to get KOed. He was stunned, I wouldnt even say hurt. He caught a hard hit and it put him off for a tiny big, no danger at all. That was actually the fight which made me take notice of himand put him on the list of boxers I follow. Plus how long ago was that? Like two years and a few good challengers ago.

 

If you knew boxing you would know that punch he landed was a one in a million type of punch. Good leverage with good power and placement. It would have stunned plenty of guys. The thing that made the Mexican fans go crazy that night was that he didnt clinch go down or run like an average fighter would or American.
He sat there and kept trading with him fighting out of it. He was on shaky legs yet he traded like a warrior until he got his wits back then he just continued pummeling Cotto to the stoppage.

 

If Rhodes keeps his head , he wins this.

Make a note , Rhodes is from the Prince Nazeem school of boxing , and will test that chin.

Its quite Ironic that at 20 Rhodes was very similar to Alvarez.

His time at middleweight was the long lull in his career, since moving back down he's found his form again, won British and European titles in impressive fashion. It's a better weight for him. This should be a good fight, Alvarez still has only fought about 3 guys who could be considered good, he's going to get a real test here. Last proper fight he had Rhodes looked good, problem is he only had one more soft fight last year and pulled out of a European title defence which raises a couple of questions about him being ready for a young quality fighter after a long period of activity and the tail end of his career.

 

Canelo is packing some China. He is one of my picks for getting his Glass Jaw shattered in the next 12 months.
