    Round 3

Maldonado is catapulting himself forward with right hook and left hand combos. Morel takes short, quick steps to turn in circles and keep himself lined up to see Maldonado's rushes coming and make necessary adjustments. Big right hand to the face by Morel. Maldonado has got a chin. Morel circles off to the right, elbows tucked by his ribs and gloves to his face. Morel is boxing with extreme caution despite seeming the more dangerous guy in there. Ugh. Maldonado presses the action, looping shots with either hand. Morel is up against the ropes, and pulls him into a bear hug as Maldonado swings his way in wide.

    30-26 EM

    Round 4

Maldonado is still using his long arms to press the action, lobbing big overhand rights and low-reaching lefts hooks to the body (now in one of his orthodox phases). Morel is stinking up the joint, circling away and staying tight, causing the largely Mexican-American crowd to boo loudly. Maldonado keeps chugging along and casting his line, fishing around for some contact downstairs. The referee pauses the action to have a cut on Maldonado's eyelid inspected. Maldonado insists it's totally bueno. The doctor seems reluctant but gives his assent to continue. Maldonado comes out like a man possessed, whipping his long arms out and making Morel nervous. Morel is trying to step back and throw an odd half-ass counter without breaking a nail, being quite a *****.

    10-9 Maldonado

    39-36 Morel

    DAMN IT!!!!!

We come back from commercial, and it appears Morel wins between rounds because of the stupid cut. It must have been from a clean punch (or ruled so).

Maldonado was coming on, too.

The especially sucky part is that having 'stopped' Maldonado, "Little Hands of Steel" has now earned mention alongside the class of "Cochulito", "the Filipino Flash" and "the Raging Bull".

    Round 1

Hard shots by both, Diezel coming forward with his head down and pumping his hands overhead and landing a bit better in the opening minute. Valadez is snapping his jab out and trying to put a hook-2 combo together. Valadez chases him out of a corner and catches him with his feet tied up a little, still punching. DIEZEL IS LAID FLAT, OUT COLD BY A PERFECT RIGHT HAND!!!!

As the Solo Boxeo commentator so eloquently put it..."Blah, blah, blah...OH! Buenosnoches!!!"
