    :lol::lol:

Do you know their names? It sounds like the same tandem now as in 2004.

These Eurosport UK guys seem a bit livelier than the Sky boxing team.

He is brilliant on the Danny Williams vs Alrich fight, he just makes fun of the ref all the way through and just starts laughing at the end cos it was so ridiculous.

Thanks for doing the round by round.

What is the deal with Aydin? Never heard of him to be honest.

Really big puncher at WW - probably up near the very top along with Randall Bailey for pure one-hit power (except his is in both hands). Nothing too beautiful or complex about his style - just a stalker/banger.

Undefeated, with some nice names on his resume already but got a really shameful hometown decision against Jo Jo Dan.

Basically, it's a bad idea to go fight him in Turkey or Germany (home away from home, like it is for the K2). You're either getting KTFO or robbed. :yep

    A world title?

Well, based on rankings probably not far. His "win" over Jo Jo Dan was for the WBC silver title. He's also ranked high enough that he was slated to challenge Berto for a while. In fact, the fight was on-again off-again a few times but might not have ever been officially signed. :think

Based on actual ability? I don't think he has more than a slim puncher's chance against any of the 147lb champions.

The weakest of course is Jan Zaveck (IBF), but he's never been stopped and would be the hometown hero assuming they met in Germany (so Aydin would be without his one other ace in the hole besides his power).

Other than that? Pacquiao-Mosley is for the WBO. Berto-Ortiz is for the WBC. Senchenko is holding the WBA strap hostage in the Ukraine.

    No easy path.

So, good chance at a title shot (particularly the WBC, who have him ranked highly as a contender) but little chance of winning.

Hey, any news on Michael Wallisch Yakup Saglam heavyweight fight also on this card?

Boxrec says that Wallisch won, but the result is an NWS witha question mark. What does that mean?

Weird. That is the designation Boxrec uses for "newspaper decisions" for old-time bouts (usually not dating past the 1920's). They're treated as exhibitions for all intents and purposes.

It isn't really used for modern records. :huh

FWIW, I added my much-delayed single-round RBR writeup of this to the beginning of the thread where it belonged in the first place.

They explained in the video that Aydin took step-aside money from Berto so that Berto could first have an "easy" tuneup against Freddy Hernandez, with the promise being that Berto would give him his opportunity a few months later. It sounds like the Turk got the **** end of the stick in those negotiations, as the Haitian sensation gave him the okey-doke. :yep

Now, he'll have to wait until at least after Ortiz.

Fighting eight-rounders against the likes of Lubachkin (who can't even last 1/8 of that allotted time) won't exactly prepare Aydin for his eventual step up in class...but at least it keeps him from rusting solid. :conf

It has to be erroneous. There is no such thing as newspaper decisions these days...and there certainly wouldn't be any newspaper decisions rendered in the middle of the day/evening of the fight itself.

There are other bouts on the card listed as "NWS" too. My guess is they should all just read "PTS" or some form of decision...and that they all indeed count.

The strange thing is that actual reports on the results are very hard to come by. It might help to know German...:think

    Wallisch won by Points.

The last two Fights of the evening was cancelled, after female boxer Rola el Harabi was shot into hands by her father. Three People hurt, but no death.
