Marquez is the last fighter Floyd fought who has great stamina, not Hatton. Floyd was beating Marquez from the first bell, and didn't need to take advantage of MArquez getting tired. We'll see how it plays out with Pacquiao. My guess is that Pacquiao will seem stronger in the late rounds as some of the damage starts to take it's toll on Floyd.

Shane relied on athleticism FAR more than Mayweather did overall in their careers but Mayweather made sure to use technique first which is why he may be able to fight longer. I say "may" because Floyd is too damn inactive for us to be sure if he can go on. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd was more athletic though he used/uses much more fundamentals than Shane

Floyd can't even beat Shane at basketball. Floyd is not the most athletically gifted, it's his ring IQ. Pacquiao on the other hand is athletically gifted.

Floyd has better reflexes than emmanuel, more physical strength, and is quicker.

Floyd is also the better basketball player between the two.

Those are indicators of Floyd being more athletically gifted.

It's not Zab's stamina that came so much into play, Mayweather got more aggressive and kicked his ass. Judah only won the first two rounds but before the 4th Roger said, "He don't wanna fight!" and that's when Mayweather raised the tempo and kicked his ass.

Agreed. It was actually Mayweather that had more success bullying Hatton in most of the clinches.

Hatton may have been tired eating so many right hands.

Floyd is one of the most athletic boxers in the game today. He still relies on athleticism just look at how he put his hands completely down and avoids shots as he did with Mosley & Marquez(his last two fights). He'll pull back, counter, then weave out of the way. His ring IQ is high but to say he's not very athletically gifted is incorrect. Many times he doesn't have his hands high when pulling back to counter, look at this vid.

Yep. Mayweather let Hatton tire himself out in the clinches. Hatton was expending energy whilst Mayweather was expending very little, if any. That combined with taking very clean shots tired Hatton out.

That's because he is of the tradition, the same one Bernard is from.

A battle between these two fighters is at the elite level of the sport. You cannot write either fighter off. Manny Pac is my favourite, although if one fighter comes in at 80% the other at 100% then the odds change.
This fight could be at 140lbs -154lbs, it's not about belts, it's about who the worlds greatest boxer is between those weights and the pound for pound king of the ring.

Bernard slips more, Floyd pulls back more. Bernard also never had the athleticism Floyd has and was more textbook. Both are solid fundamentally and usually have their hands low but you don't have to have a hugh guard in order to be a technician. Many technicians of the past (Ezzard Charles, Lloyd Marshall, even Joe Louis) lowered their left hand, I agree with you that the tradition is still here in boxing though rare. Most fighters want to be brawlers that lack defense and I'm a boxing purist so many times I look at older fights more often.
