Cool, we'll see on the night (if it ever happens, of course..)

I've only seen a handful of clips/fights on each fighter to bode what I said earlier.

    ---------------

Yeah, I can understand that from his POV like I said, but it'll be pretty stupid if it doesn't materalise.

Wally, I never said I didn't. I have seen Gevor and Sturm. I've seen highlights and small parts of their fights to judge what I said.

You havn't seen Gevor and Sturm pretty clearly.

All this said, Macklin better get this fight with Sturm or he's going to look a right tosspot. He's taking a risk for something better but might end up with nothing.

What I said about Sturm being better than Gevor was based on what I saw on paper, and that was a Sturm win, so I assumed that Gevor was better, but as you just said, you believe Gevor won.

I've only seen a handful of clips of Gevor and Sturm, like I had just said, and you've obviously seen a lot more, so I'm not exactly arguing with you on who's better.

I can understand the Risk/Reward **** from his POV, but it'll all be a waste of time if it doesn't materialise, and I think he loses both anyway.

I've seen a handful of clips and parts of their fights. I never claimed that I've seen every damn fight of theirs.

Well done, you've just said what I've been trying to say the whole damn time.

Macklin obviously doesn't think he loses both but what would you do in his position?

Take a tough eliminator or tough TITLE SHOT for more money?

If he loses to both anyway its still far better from a financial and sporting viewpoint to lose for a world title rather than for nothing. Clearly he doesn't think he'll lose so I'm not sure this type of thinking is too relevant as far as the logic behind whats taking place. Which BTW makes perfect sense, but at the end of the day Macklin is setting himself up for a big fall if this fight does not happen so the end judgement on whether he's taken the right decision depends solely on that.

You said he should fight Gevor because it would prepare him to fight Sturm. Which made no sense at all.

Go for the shot against Sturm. I can understand that, for his POV, as I've just said at least three times.

But, if it doesn't materalise, then what would have been the point?

As I said in my first post to you, I don't see a signed and sealed fight with Sturm yet, so with a fight 2 weeks to go, I would have just gone ahead, but I'm not a professional Boxer, and i'm not Macklin.

I didn't like his mind-set prior and I said this when I saw the Ringside show.

Bro, seriously, go back and read what I just said to you. I judged what I saw on paper, and that was a Sturm win, and then you just told me that Gevor won that fight, so I didn't say that Gevor would be a right step before Sturm after that, did I? No, I'm pretty sure I didn't.

Macklin must feel confident enough that negotiations are going in the right direction.

And obviously he'd have to pull out of the Gevor fight in order to sign for a Sturm fight.

If it doesn't materialise then Macklin is an idiot.

So you admit you made no sense? That was why everybody took exception to what you came out with, not because you said he's going to look silly if the fight doesn't materialize. Judging fighters based on boxrec records is never that smart, especially when its a fight in Germany thats relatively close. Common sense helps :good

Yes, I admit that it made no sense, and that's only because I acknowledged what you said about Gevor winning the fight.

I'm on this Forum to learn bro, not to cover up something I say. I quite openly admit when I'm wrong with something, and I did say to you fair enough, if Gevor did win the Sturm fight, then me saying taking the Gevor fight was a right step, is wrong.
