I beg to differ...its frustrating and sickening when you sit through a whole fight and the deserving fighter gets ripped off.

 

But is that not part of boxing? You get everything you want, you would soon lose interest.

The beauty of our sport is no matter how 99.99999999999999% of people see a fight, three peoples opinions are all that matters, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Sure it drives you nuts, but what is fun if everyone agrees with your opinion? Even the ones that are 99.999999999999% right?

 

That doesn't really hold up mate in the most clear robberies. You want to see fair decisions. That's why we have professional judges that are supposed to be both competent and neutral. It's not a matter of creating talking points, there are enough talking points and entertainment in the fights. This is peoples livelihood, this guy may not even get another chance now. I don't think many people would lose interest because the right fighters win the fight.

 

i have very few fighters that iam genuine fans of most bouts i watch are because i love boxing and its disguisting when you get hometown decsions its unfair on the watchin public and most of all unfair on the fighter who has sacrificed sweet and blood only to be robbed
i cannot honestly see how anyone can derive pleasure from such decisions

 

I disagree, being the victim of a poor decision can make your career. It certainly did RJJ no harm. Now if RJJ had won an Olympic Gold, he would of just been a Brilliant boxer who won Olympic Gold, but being robbed blind, made him a bigger story.

Sure Jones blew all that momentum, with a real slow first four years as a pro. But if he was smart, he could of made the most of this.

This defeat gives this Palacios an excellent pay day in his next fight, which will probably be a rematch. And surely as a pro boxer, that is all you can ask for?

You have to be kidding!, look at mallignaggi, almost quit boxing because he was sick of this kind of corrupt bull****. It doesn't make a fighter but can certainly break a fighter. Personally I'd have some, what the **** is the point moments if I was ever robbed like that. It ruins so many things about boxing, people are quick to slag off boxers like ward for not travelling but can you blame a guy for not wanting to when **** like this happens.

David Tiberi actually quit. Kudos for principles, but ultimately it cost him a serious pay day, in the form a rematch with Toney, and although he got a ton of credit for standing up for himself in the mid 90s, only the serious hardcore remember his story now a days.

It is said you need a knockout to draw away from home in Europe and America, these sort of fights prove it. Although we are far from innocent, as Sugar Boy Malinga will testify (Benn fight one, and how was fight two a split decision?; and Eubank).
