Krzysztof Wlodarczyk vs. Francisco Palacios RBR

Challenger should fight with some conviction, hes trying to take a belt of a champ. Yet he was fighting not to lose rather then to win.

 

In this fight Wlodarczyk waited for Palacios to open up, before countering. This was the plan. Problem is Palacios never wanted to fight and most of his punches caught leather and then Palacios began a dancing routine. This was a good defensive show on Wlodarczyk's part but a terrible demonstration of his offence. As a result, Palacios came away looking like the busier fighter. Wlod should have had a plan B. I would say Palacios just didn't do enough to take away a champ's belt. I would call this a draw. Either way, I think both fighter's showcased themselves pretty badly.

 

How many controversial decisions has Cunningham won in Philadelphia?

It's certainly less than Adamek has won in New Jersey, that's for sure.

And yes, Adamek did floor Cunningham 3 times, but that does not mean he 'whooped Steve's ass'. If he did, he wouldn't have been badly wobbled himself, and wouldn't have arguably lost the majority of rounds. Adamek deserved to win, but you'd have to be really biased to say that he whupped USS.

Fair enough, but it's not even comparable to the hometown decisions that the likes of Huck and Wlod have received in recent times, no?

 

Cant disagree, but Wlod has a good excuses. He did not even train properly for this fight due to his injury.

 

even the most ardent Eastern European can not put up a case for Wlod. Jesus Christ if you do then that famous quote from Roger Mayweather should be uttered.

Please point where i said Adamek whooped Steve's ass. I never made that claim. Always thought this was a close fight and gave Steve major props for his tech skills, which are above Adamek's imo. Adamek is just the more complete fighter.

 

Poland is better described as (Eastern) Central Europe than Eastern Europe and yes, clearly there is a case for Włod if you'd open your eyes.

 

Adamek was badly rocked and out on his feet for the majority of round 4.

It was controversial. Any razor thin decision in a fighters hometown is controversial, there will always be conflicting opinions. I scored the fight a draw, but a close win for either fighter cannot be argued with. I'm sure that would facilitate the fight being 'controversial'?

I don't think it's a whooping. He won a very close decision, with some hairy moments along the way. If that is considered a whooping, then I really have a misinformed knowledge of what that means. In my book, Kessler v Andrade was a whooping, Mosley vs Margarito was a whooping, USS vs Goral, was not.

I don't reward someone who's offense doesn't land and who runs for 75% of the fight. Włod barely did anything either, obviously, but he at least occasionally landed, was the aggressor, and didn't run.

just drop it man, your fighter didnt do **** in there...if Palacious threw only a few punches, Diablo had thrown even less than that

 

I was pulling for Włodarczyk but he's far from my favorite fighter, I can score rounds how I see them even when it's someone I like. Diablo through less, yet land much more cleanly, Palacios hit leather time after time after time.
