One punch KO power? Pacquiao has good power, but one punch? :huh

If the bout ever comes off, as soon as Pacquiao shows signs of going on the offense, Mayweather will be out of range. And the times when Pacquiao is in range to land, Mayweather will land his shots and clinch (halt Pacquiao's offense).

This very well may be Mayweather camps gameplan...IMO. He will do everything in his power to upset Pacquiao...and stopping his offence will frustrate him.

    Assuming Mayweather can do it.

$ is the first guy with a significant arm length advantage that actually knows how to fight tall. emmanuel will be forced to lunge in to throw a str8 punch, $ counters with 2-3 powershots, smothers emmanuel, does some work inside, and then clinches and hit. Ref resets them. Rinse and repeat until emmanuel gets stopped.

As always, your idol Floyd wins this fantasy match. He is the ATG fantasy boxing champion. He knocks out Armstrong Leonard Duran Hearns and Whitaker :good

Reach advantage could be significant. If Mayweather can judge the distance from the start, he will be in a good position. Pacquiao is good at closing distance fast, if Mayweather can judge it correctly (kind of like Hatton)...he may be able to land his straight right regularly.

Mayweather will also have to up his output, like you said, 2-3-4 shots as Pacquiao attacks...then maybe clinch if necessary. Pacquiao can be frustrated if he can't land, or if he doesn't believe he is entertaining the crowd enough. Crowd could be a factor aswell.

Mayweather doesn't want to be walking back in straight lines though. Pacquiao is good at leaping, and he is also great at landing on a stationary target. No matter how good Mayweather's defense is, if he has his back to the ropes, Pacquiao will land...but also, even if he doesn't hurt Mayweather, he will capture rounds.

I think $ will get started earlier than usual as he boxes on his backfoot for the first 1-2 rounds.

FIrst thing Floyd does against southpaws is measure and time them to get his counter hook over the southpaw jab.

emmanuel will then revert back to what he always knew, the left hand, in attempt to cut the distance between himself and Floyd. This is when $ counters.

$ has made sure to stay off the ropes ever since his comeback. He check hooks and swims around these days. emmanuel doesn't have the HOF jab or size to molest Pretty Boy against the ropes the way Oscar did. emmanuel's way in is with the jab or str8 which will be countered by $.

mayweather's real concern about pacquiao is that if he fights him, well then he would have to be in the same ring with that monster!!

You would be concerned too if an ugly topless guy was chasing you around in a small area.
