Thats a cool picture, lol. thought amittedlty that guy doesn't look like Greb, something different about it for some reason.

Anyway just guessing but people probably think you have Greb film because of the rare stuff you admitted to having from the era which sounds pretty awesome. Langford-Jeanette, the yet-to-be-seen title fight of Dempsey-Miske, I think you mentioned there are decent odds of getting Dempsey-Fulton being found which despite it not being very long, shows Dempsey the tiger that people always talk about before he went soft while being in Hollywood. Thats pretty impressive. You have Dempsey-Miske, which is not to be found by just a youtube search. With that kind of stuff people must assume you got some Greb in there somewhere... Thought crossed my mind before and others I'm sure as well.

...That post by Craig Long in The Sweet Science.com was a few lines long but had nothing like a lead except perhaps for the city where he claimed to have see the film.

Since no one else has said anything allow me to say Steve, that I hope your father beats that cancer as thoroughly as Greb beat Tunney(I), Ali beat Cleve Williams or Tyson beat Spinks. In other words, completely and conclusively:good

Thank you Doug. Means a lot.

And to those saying that its thought I might have Greb film because of all the film I do have from that era. Well, I got all that film in the search for a Greb film. Its great, and sad, that Ive turned up so much and yet nothing on Greb. Its mind boggling.

I'll second that, it's tough when family isn't doing well. Wishing you and your family the best. God bless.

What is the overall opinion of the forum about footage on Greb? I mean, do people think there is footage out there an someones got it in there private collection or that all footage is long since gone an we'll never get to see him in action?

But that is a good lead for people who know what they are looking for, slakka can confirm the film was shown in syracuse, whose to say its in a library or something over there, poor example but you get the idea.

I could be wrong nut I don't remember him saying what city he saw it in. I read that post several times over the past year and a half hoping he would respond to a question I had about it.

I think some unknowing family member of a famous fight fan (an actor, singer, writer or athlete) has it collecting dust in an attic or basement, not knowing its worth. Like the Bing Crosby family unknowingly having the complete Pirates-Yankees World Series in their possession(which was discovered recently to a great media hoopla).

Hopefully someday they will put on the scuba gear, dive in and find it.

If the Greb training film from 1990 was discovered at a university in south Carolina, maybe an uncatalogued library collection somewhere else?

Surf, I think you've mentioned that before, question is how do we find out who has it or even if it still exists? The training footage was found in a library archive, tbh theres a million places it could be...

Indeed. But now that we're in the internet era I'm thinking it might be more of a possibility, especially with libraries and universities digitizing their collections. Time will tell.

I wonder what Jim Jacobs would have been able to track down with today's computer technology and research advances? Could he have found that elusive Greb fight? What a thought....
