Was over in Citywest tonight for the 100th anniversary and can honestly say the Dublin boxers were disappointing. Apart from Bates, Roche and maybe Finnegan I was ****in appalled. Classes apart for most fights. Dublins lads didnt throw straight punch and for the most gpt the ears boxed off them all night, I know there was a lot of replacements but clearly wasnt anywhere near the best the Dubs have to offer against a fairly handy London squad. Great night all the same. Happy Birthday IABA!

Back to fighting tomato cans for Lee so. Why can't the Vera fight be made? It makes perfect sense.

 

Lee want's the fight. Vera want's the fight. Fans want the fight. Vera has a good ranking since his surprise win over Mora. Andy after having a epic win over McEwan.
There is no possible reason not to have the fight:huh It would be a huge disappointment if he fights some bum

 

only if it's whiskey ..

 

Hope he gets a reasonably decent opponent at the least, I dont expect too much though.

 

he may have a title fight lined-up already, otherwise this makes no sense...

I thought Manny said he didn't want Lee to fight for 3 monhts as a precaution.
He said he did that will all his stable if they were in a War!
Anyway, knowing Lee this is a stay busy fight, probably in preparation for Vera in June/July.

Nothing pointless about it, keeping a fighter sharp and close to his fighting weight is a excellent exercise for him.

He will fight Vera on HBO june/july and he will be ready.

 

What if Vera doesn't want to wait around that long? It's already been two months since his last fight. What if he gets a good offer from someone else in the mean time.

I'd only support this is the Vera fight is already signed. It's the perfect fight for Lee, just hope it doesn't slip through his fingers.

 

Some guys on here just like to have a moan about nothing. If keeping busy makes Lee and his team more confident then whats the problem?

If Vera was smart he would have a keep busy fight also. Something tells me he wont turn down a chance to fight on HBO for say around 100,000 bucks.

Vera most likely believes he beats Lee again and isnt going anywhere imo.

Read Veras twitter , he said Pavlik team want nothing to do with him and Lee is the only one open to him in the middle weight division.

He also said he handled Chavez jr easily in sparring and cant get that fight either. Lemiuex also turned him down after the Demers win in canada.
