Where Does Helenius Rank After His Shocking KO of Peter???

Helenius was not losing, that is ridiculous. He started quite well. In mid rounds he did not so well, because he didn`t punch enough and let Peter come close. In fitfh Peter got Helenius in the ropes. But after that low blow Helenius energized and once he start hitting Peter got obviously frustrated and Peters momentum was gone. Peter started to suck jabs and straights, but didn`t seem to get hurt much, but that was only beacuse his head does not move when you hit him with a straight.

 

That is a good point. I did not watch the fight, only saw a few highlights. I have heard that Helenius did look bad at times in the fight...regardless though, he got the KO victory, so even if he was behind or looked bad at points in the fight he still dropped peter twice and got the KO win. That is what matters!

Fair enough. I do consider thhat Helenius doesn't have that KO loss because he hasn't fought Vitali or Wladimir yet...............and if that's the only shortcomings of Chambers, Thompson & Arreola then I understand your point.

You can't argue that Helenius has a better level of competition than Solis though, not if you take out his KO loss to Vitali. Solis wasn't very impressive against Austin, a guy who Wlad took apart in the second round without even throwing a right hand................and quite honestly that's one of the best names on Solis' resumé.

 

Fair points :good And yes I believe facing a Klitschko at this point in time, it would be a devastating loss to Helenius.

All praise to helenius for the brilliant ko win but being even on points with a guy like Peter after 8 rounds means you re not exactly a fast moving pugilist artist, the KLitschkos and including haye have better footwork and faster hands, against Haye I d always give Helenius the ko chance. Hes top ten material now, maybe top seven. Id like to see him vs Povetkin or Dimitrenko, he should trounce the latter if he's champ material

 

Solis doesn't have an impressive resume and it's certainly arguable that Helenius should be ranked above him. Based on watching them both though, it's just my opinion that Solis is a better, more skilled fighter.

Helenius has faced a decent level of competition and he can end fights in impressive style. He's a long way from fighting a Klitschko though and, quite honestly, I can't see him ever beating either one.

I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes from here though - if he can beat someone like Arreola or Chambers then he'll clearly deserve a high ranking.

 

Yeah, I don't give Helenius too much chance against either Klitschko yet but eventually, who knows? He certainly showed chin & power last night.

 

That's why no-one should write him off. With a solid chin and genuine ko power, you can be a threat to most guys.

 

Personally anywhere from #7-#10.

After last night he's a genuine contender imo, still a little inexperienced but will improve.

 

Well i would rank him 10 or 9, I still think he needs to get another big name on his résumé before we can call him a contender. Sam is not the man he once was and if Helenius wants to be considered a contender give him a guy like Arreola or Adamek.

 

Top ten, bottom half. Definitely behind wlad, vitali, haye, povetkin, adamek, chambers, chagaev (and valuev if he's more active) he's about the same level as dmitrenko, arreola, boystov, solis.

 

I think the guy has potential and he looks like he will make exciting Heavyweight fights.

 

Yea I think Top 10, 7-10 spot. He has plenty of homework to do (stamina, workrate) but good to have this guy around.

Certainly doesn't have the mental and self-esteem issues Povetkin appears to be suffering from.
