Tell me how any of that is relevant. The bout was held at 160 (not at WW or LHW) and Trinidad came off an impressive win over a legit middleweight boxer and was the betting favourite.

Tito was knocked down quite a few times but, with the possible exception of Vargas, he was never hurt. They were all flash knockdowns due to his poor balance and he was always back on his feet before the ref even got to 3.

Trinidad had, had one fight at MW the rest of his career was at WW and LMW, Hopkins had been a big MW for a long time previous. Trinidad may have come off an impressive win, but there is a cloud over his hand bandaging that Hopkins team jumped on

I am glad there are some smart guys on here that realise BHOPs win over Tito in comparison with some of his others is not as great as people make out. Tito beat Joppy is the one they always throw at me. Joppy was a paper champ in a weak MW division who almost got Knock out by Eastman in the 12th of their fight.

Joppy was a decent fighter but never a special talent. BHOP was allot bigger than Tito and you can not ignore that huge advantage.

As for Tito being a 3-1 favourite so what Jeff Lacy was a favourite against Calzaghe because of the hype and mostly because of the high hopes Americans had for me.

The best fight BHOP had at MW was his competitive fight with a prime RJJ.

There you go again Beetle Bailey.
Using your logic, Ruiz should have beaten Jones since Jones was a middleweight moving up to Heavy, or Hagler should have beaten Leonard since Leonard started off at Welter. :patsch

Get used to it ya bum lover. Great fighters in the tradition of Archie Moore move up and beat larger fighters. You r too used to bums like Calzaghe who had to manipulate wins in his sole weight class based on timing (waiting until they get old) and C/B level opposition.

Hopkins weighed his lowest ever. If he had lost, you would have said he was weight drained.
Hopkins weighed under 170 and so did Felix. They were the same weight.

You get some great exceptions, but there are more that have not done as well when facing bigger stronger fighters as they have gone up in weight.
Not sure why you are going on about Calzaghe :huh except maybe cause this threads about Hopkins and Calzaghe beat Hopkins :smoke.

Still a big solid MW beating a blown up LMW former WW really doesnt look great. Hopkins looked the bigger man and Trinidad had been put down mant times by smaller fighters

Tito's training was held back and wasnt able to fly out back to the island to train. What people forget to mention and there are plenty of pics, Tito stop training at one point and was out there physically helping out:good Until recently he finally admitted as well him and his wife were going through very tough times while preparing for his Hopkins bout. If not mistaken he was having an affair with another woman and had a child as well...
