    Deontay Wilder 15(15KOs) 0

I think he has the best chance to win a HW crown!
Maybe not aggainst one of the K2s, but against a Boytsov or a Helenius:bbb

I saw a couple of his fights, even against tin cans he doesn't look very good. I doubt he'll make it to even getting a title shot, if he does and it's against anyone of the Klitschkos level of ability (they'll most likely be retired by the time he's ready) he'll get a hiding. Unless being black and having a 6 pack makes up for a shortage of talent.

By the time D is ready to fight for a title, the Klitschkos, David Haye and Adamak will be long gone.

    Your so stupid.

There can't be an American Black Hope idiot!

The term is racists in nature and references White American's desire to have one of their own as Champion instead of a fellow American who happens to be black.

Second, this isn't the case with black Americans currently (FYI - I am half black and Mexican) because black Americans DO NOT WATCH BOXING!

Black Americans you will find watch boxing about the same percentage as white Americans.

In other words not in very high numbers. Boxing is a niche sport in America. It is NOT mainstream. Quite frankly NO ONE IN AMERICA except people like me give a **** about it.

When the main stream media hypes a fight up, they come out to watch it but still in extremely SMALL NUMBERS.

Again no one really cares about the heavyweight champ anymore, sad but true.

One exception to that. Whom ever or whatever country has the champ will make a big deal out of it, but the populace of the U.S. on whole just doesn't give a rat's ass one way or the other.

They are too busy watching Kobe and Lebron or their favorite football team, or American Idol, or some other stupid ****.

Oh one more thing, keep in mind this trend has been developing for a while. In fact the trend was in effect even when Tyson was champ. Less and Less Americans were watching boxing. If the U.S. didn't have a latino population I think the sport would be dead here. I really do believe that.

Seth Mitchell is way better than Wilder. Wilder has already shown a very shaky Chin against complete bums.

the Tyson era was the last era where boxing was a regional, american sport. After the fall of the USSR, boxing became global and got flooded with talent and the american hype machine(don King and others) doesnt work on defeated fighters.

The average american doesnt follow/dislikes boxing, because the best of the best(LHW and up) aren't american.
The same reason to why they hate hockey(only 1 in 5 players are US born), the same reason why the NBA is getting more and more unpopular among americans(international players). Need I mention Football/soccer??

The NFL in the last true american sport.

Deontay Wilder to me still looks like he will be another 3 years away from taking on a top 20 opponent, only then will we know what this young buck has in his locker, but he's not fat, which is of course a start being American.

Has Wilder fought anyone with a pulse yet? Last I saw his matches at about the 7 to 10-0 range he was fighting guys that had pockets on their trunks

You have to be more than just a great boxer to be a Great Black Hope. An outspoken elite Black fighter in the mold of Jack Johnson, Ali, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Jr, etc would be "Black hopes".
