I get that all the time and it ****ing annoys me.

"David Haye is playing this weekend"
"Amir Khan is playing this weekend"

When Khan moved up to 140 I got "he's a heavyweight now isn't he?"

I hate watching it with a certain group of mates, basically every big fight that's populer here, haye, khan for example. We will either go to the pub or pile round mine or one of there houses to watch the fight. There's this one guy who comes along and he says everytime there's a clinch... "this is gay why are they just hugging" blah blah, same guy that says things like "why are all these rugby players so gay", touching each others arses all the time (Scrums), really pisses me off and ruins my mood.

Thankfully, i've completely disassociated myself from such types. My problem now is friends who actually know their sh*t, but don't follow the sport anymore. The only convos we can have are about fighters from the 90's.

It went off like **** at Mitchell v Katsidis but that was Millwall, Spurs and West Ham having a straightner I heard...:think

What I hate about boxing shows now is pissed up woman who scream all the time and talk bollocks...:yep. Beeston will vouch for this at the Haye v Ruiz fight...:hi:

I have stopped going to contests with anyone who is just a "daytripper" as they ain't got a clue and it spoils my night...:yep They want to chat all night and when I am at a show I hardly say a word whilst the boxing is on...:yep

Millwall steamed the West Ham lot Kamikaze just came over gates and that and done em in stands. I was sat Bobby Moore watching a group get a kick in underneath my tier.

The younger posters on here might know where I'm coming from....

So I'm 21, and any time I get introduced to someone older, say my Dad's friend, or distant relatives at weddings etc, the topic of boxing always comes up (My Bro and I are amateurs). 9 times out of ten the older gentleman will declare, "Boxing isn't what it used to be". And then proceed to lecture me about how 'back in his day' etc. Etc.

So I'm used to that and usually just change the subject. Will this one time a guy named Joe, about 50 odd, declare the usual statement, "Boxing isn't what it used to be, back in my day you had the likes of Benn and Tyson." He then paused, in a moment of reflection, before stating how, "Their fight was one of the best I've ever seen".

You lot are better than me.

I take it in three simple steps -

    i) Ignore what they said about boxing.

ii) Ask them a football/rugby question (depends on audience).

iii) Walk away when they are answering.

    Fool proof.

Your friend is pretty gay to be fair.
Let him watch MMA with you, I am sure you would be near to hitting him at some point. :D

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

One of the best catch weight fights I ever seen too.
If I remember correctly they fought at 115lbs although benn had to cut a bit tyson carried his weight and power up well to that fight.

Must dash the banana is ringing.
