On the whole do you like the super 6 format?

Would you like to see it again in another division?

Would you like to see more prospects rather than established fighters?

Do you think we will see another tournament of this kind?

    :good

It needs a fair bit of fine tuning but it's meant that I've seen fights with the tournament which I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have seen without it.

I like it because of the fights its given us but I think its flawed as a format for deciding which out of 6 fighters is the best in a division. Its too drawn out and prone to pull outs, I'm pretty sure we won't see a TV company use this format again, maybe something shorter based on the Super 6 though...

i think one of the main flaws in it was leaving Bute out, it left him fighting inferior opposition whilst everyone was tied up.

I'd like to see one without top level/established operators

For instance a Middleweight one with

    Macklin
    Pirog
    Lemieux
    Barker
    Lee
    Manfredo

liked the fact top fighters are taking on one another but feel as though it lost a bit of steam with pull outs and the time its been on for

Thing is Marlow when you see these "fantasy tournaments" now everyone seems determined to have 6 boxers in it. Theres nothing magical about the number 6.....;O)

You need to have the top level operators otherwise it wouldnt work.

Why does everyone think Andy Lee is a top level middleweight? It's like saying Allan green was a top smw! Sane goes for barker

I'd LOVE to see it at welter.

Just a shame that this didn't happen with today's super mid's when Joe was running things.

    Joe
    Bute
    Froch
    Ward
    Dirrell
    Kessler

Now THAT would of been some tournament!

The idea was correct, the format and time-span not...

Would have been better with a straight knock out over a year with 8 guys.

I like it, although agree that it would be nice to have shorter gaps between the fights. Too many fighters these days aren't prepared to take a risk, many of the fighters with a reputation for being good seem only to want the safer option. I liked the Super Six because you got a number of fighters with a big reputation all facing one another, even though they new that at most only one could come through the whole thing without being defeated. Lots of divisions seem to have a lot of talk and negotiation and argument recenetly while not delivering too many of the big fights. So I am a big fan of the Super Six, warts 'n all.

But I do think we need to keep it to the top guys. If you let contenders in then a) it would not really find the division No.1 and b) it would be like Prizefighter but over 12 rounds so taking months to come to anything.

I reckon though that one of the reasons the Super 6 was able to attract the top fighters is that, no matter the results, there was the promise of at least 3 well paying fights.
