"I suppose disappointed is the wrong word technically, because from the outset the contract stipulated America for the semi-final and finals , but I thought it might have been worth a punt on behalf of my loyal fans to put a little case together for Nottingham. Dirrell aside, those Cobra fans have racked up the air miles over the last couple of years, so at the very least I had to explore any potential for it to be local."

"But it is what it is at the end of the day." said Froch, who has began intense training already in the Olympic training facility in Sheffield.

"The logistics associated with broadcasting the fight from these shores was not to be this time. On the upside Atlantic City is only an hour from the Big Apple and there are lots of beaches and resorts next door to the venue, the weather in June is very good out there."

The current reigning WBC super middleweight champion took matters into his own hands to see if Showtime contract could be revised, given the circumstances surrounding his impending defence of the title against Miami-based Jamaican Glen Johnson.

"We all know Johnson has the respect of the boxing world for his game attitude towards fighting the best, wherever the ring may be. But Glen's a Jamaican and so it made sense to explore perhaps him coming to England to the busiest venue. The gate would be significant and the atmosphere would have been raucous for my homecoming.

"But every cloud has a silver lining and hopefully we will finally get the British television right this time. If all the pieces of the jigsaw come together me and Johnson will be duking it out live on Sky Sports." Said Froch.

"Me, Haye and Amir Khan are putting British boxing back on the global map after a quiet couple of years since Ricky and Joe hung them up. I personally can't wait to start punching holes in someone and continue from where I left off in Helsinki."

Froch gave an outstanding performance against a very dangerous and hard punching German in Arthur Abraham. Froch scored a shutout across the scorecards and cemented himself as a true force around the 12 stone weight classes and no1 on many British pound for pound lists.

But if and when he gets past Glen Johnson, a mouth watering shoot-out awaits him with unbeaten gold medal Olympian Andre Ward, an up and coming superstar across America.

"Ward is the main man in America now at 168lb's and it will be a difficult fight for spells, but my grit and hunger is without question - and hopefully Great Britain will have the first ever Super Six tournament winner by the end of the year."

"No other Brit has fought the fights I've ever done in succession. Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, now Johnson and then Andre Ward. Many fight one or two over a career - not 7 names on the trot." said Froch.

Carl Froch vs Glen Johnson will be at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey on the 4th June.

    It's on LiveFight. Seems legit.

Anyway, I might be going to this. Should be a really good fight and I'm planning a trip to America around that time, so fingers crosses. Any idea about the typical range in ticket prices in America?
