Duran is overrated. Ray Leonard is overrated. Greb is disgustingly overrated. Pacquiao is overrated. Bowe could beat any Heavyweight ever besides Ali and Holmes. If Patterson fought Lennox Lewis, Patterson would win by KO (in his prime). Roy Jones would win a lopsided decision against Greb. Holyfield is a top 5 heavyweight of all time. Emile Griffith would beat Bernard Hopkins. Jones would UD Robinson.
there are some downright baffling opinions on here. do any of you care to elaborate? it seems more like people are trying to express their discontent towards certain fighters in the guise of giving an "opinion"
Leonard/Duran II being fixed is a right laugh. Ray beating Duran is a hard pill to swallow for the purists.
"Neither Ray Leonard nor Roberto Duran are among the top 20 all-time p4p." is laughable and I doubt anybody who's watched more than two fights of either fighter would hold that opinion
Those who wax about how Fitz et al look just as good on film as modern fighters and believe they would clean out any era has done little or no boxing themselves.
Henry Armstrong and Barney Ross would not be ranked higher than Kid Gavilan if they fought in his era. Sammy Mandell and Jimmy Carter beat half the lightweights ranked above them. Sergio Martinez's KO of Paul Williams is pretty much akin to Michael Nunn's shot on Sumbu Kalambay; and **** that, I'll go a step further: Paull Williams would beat Sergio in a rubber match. Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Pernell Whitaker is a more skilful encounter than any fight you can mention to me in the last 15 years. Bernard Hopkins retires aged 38 in any other era bar this shite one. Charley Burley does not look that great on film. Neither does Ezzard Charles. Vicente Saldivar belongs above Manny Pacquiao on a p4p list. Abe Attell's resume shits on just about every other featherweight's resume. Nicolino Locche doesn't make a top 100 list if he fought his career in America and we didn't have footage of him. Install any all time top ten fighter in a division today as the champ in each division and there's a very, very good possibility that we don't see a multi-weight champ around (maybe with the exception of the shitty divisions created recently). Myung Woo Yuh vs. Mario Alberto De Marco I is better than 95% of the fights you'll see on a top 100 fights list. Felix Trinidad would chase a prime Floyd Mayweather out of the ring and knock the current one the **** out.:good
