This is a much better match up than Arum's Rios-Barerra bout that he's been talking about. This would be a good fight but Rios should be the favorite here. Diaz is looking like he's on the downside of his career and Rios is a looking to be the real thing.

I thought Rios was trying to get on the undercard of Cotto-Margarito and this would be the perfect undercard fight, I doubt it happens, too expensive and Diaz probably wants a soft touch or two before stepping up to Rios. I think Diaz is a live underdog here but I'd favor Rios.

diaz is the one who wants it.

but i think its a terrible idea, i really like diaz, he's a nice kid and was a good fighter and has acheived quiet a bit by unifying his division, he shouldn't be a part time fighter, he's putting himself at risk.

i'd rather see rios vs soto, soto is also arums fighter so it should be easy to make.

Not long ago people kept saying PAC avoided Diaz and fought David D instead :rofl

Rios would bludgeoned Diaz it's gonna be really sad watching. Diaz is can't crack an egg that Rios would just literally stand in front of him without and regard of the incoming punches....

not long? it was in 2007 people were saying and rightfully so, how were they supposed to know pac was gonna jump up in weight and knockout giants?

Pac really settled in nicely at 135 and was beginning to develop that right hook. Had they fought Diaz would get killed under 8 rounds.... But if Rios fought the Pre-Campbell Diaz, I think Diaz might win a UD..

I imagine the same people who are giving Diaz a chance in this match-up also consider JMM to be a "great" Lightweight.

I'll say no at this point . . . Baby Bull should take a tune up fight and remove the ring rust so he'll have a better chance against
    Rios.

diaz needs to get back to his winning ways before taking on this fight. I think he might be a shoot fighter.

JMM ruined Diaz' punch resistance, going against a harder puncher in Rios is suicide for Diaz at this stage. If he tries to box, he wont be able to keep Rios off of him, if he tries to slug it out, the results would be worse for him.

Rios is too much for him.
