    Before we add maidana to the list, lets name some boxers that fought their idol and beat him up.
    I guess naming those who lost is fine as well.
    Pac claims Oscar is one of his idols and he ended up retiring the guy.

    Funny situation really. de la Hoya beat his idol in the twilight of Chavez's career, then de la Hoya himself got beat in the twilight of his career by a fighter who claimed de la Hoya to be his idol.

    De La Hoya-Chavez and Marciano-Louis are the only ones that come to mind. Are they the only ones that publicly accepted the other to be his idol? I had no idea of the DLH-Pac.
