Fastest heavy since Ali? I beg to differ. Haye is not THAT fast. I truly think that Holmes and Tyson were much faster. You're right, but Tyson wouldn't need to dance. Anyways, Haye was right in front of Valuev when he counter punched him. Actually, Tyson did counter punch his way to victory a lot. He would slip a shot and fire back something else, while coming forward. This is basically Tyson's style. Except he threw more punches then haye and would basically beat Valuev to the punch everytime. If a 47 year old holyfield could do it, why can't a prime Mike Tyson? Mike was the most explosive heavyweight of all time and he will explode all over Valuev and hurt him. There's nothing Valuev can do but keep eating the combos because he has to open up to punch and if he opens up then Tyson will kill him. My previous posts were jokes.
Perhaps you should take these disgusting pornographic posts elsewhere, they have no place in Classic.
hey, Holyfield did it, he could come in and out whenever he wanted. not to mention this is an ANCIENT holyfield. so how come Tyson couldn't do this with his excellent head movement and speed? he woul dominate valuev. anyways this is a stupid thread anyway, most people here (including myself) joke aroun about valuev even touching a prime mike Tyson with a jab.
Holyfield is a late bloomer in the best shape of his career, did you see the way he took apart Botha? I would watch who you are calling ANCIENT, and he survived against a merciful Valuev by boxing behind his jab and not pissing him off, something Tyson can't do. Now Look at this uppercut! This is the price you pay if you get inside The Beast From the East's bubble. Tyson doesn't have an answer for that, he'd eat uppercuts all night until his corner throws in the towel or he goes down from an accumilcation of pin point accurate power shots. Mike Tyson knocking people down with mother ****ing jab [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsx5n3S0Xl0&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
His first opponent sums up his early days. Fighting a guy too light to be a heavyweight. This isn't the 60's where guys feared for their size are less than 220 pounds.
This will be Tyson banging on a punching bag for 12 rounds. I see Valuev going "timberrrrrrr" after a couple dozen body shots to the liver.
Okay fine... But this version of holyfield was still nothing compared to the one that battled bowe and sparked douglas. True this holyfield is exceptional as far as a older fighter goes but he should still get defeated by a younger, heavier, and bigger opponent. That uppercut that you're talking about is none-existent. I barely saw any punches thrown from Valuev in his fight against Holyfield! Holyfield defeated botha mainly because Botha gassed and holy was behind on the cards. What you're basically saying is that Tyson can't jab and can't survive. I don't think Tyson gets stopped by Valuev of all fighters. The overhand right would probably land against Valuev, seeing as Haye countered him perfectly. Then again, it could be any punch, since mike has such a great arsenal.
No, Holyfield is not just exceptional for his age...the man is at the absolute peak of his abilites. I don' think he's ever been more complete a fighter. While Wlad and Vitali ducked this new and improved fighting machine, Valuev gave him the title shot he deserved and beat the absolute best version of Holyfield with little effort. The Holyfield that survived against The Beast from the East would have crushed peak Bowe in no less than 5 rounds. Of course Valuev didn't use his uppercut against the New Real Deal, Holyfield refused to engage and there's only so much you can do against a survival minded opponent. Tyson wouldn't jab or box like that, he would swarm the giant and walk into that perfect uppercut everytime. Again, Haye is as fast as Ali and slick as The Mongoose Archie Moore himself, it does not surprise me that he did what he did against the Giant. However, Valuev is the King of Rematches..why Ruslan ducked him, and if Haye steps in the ring with him again it could the end of his career as John Ruiz found out...Valuev absolutely ruined him.
That's an excellent point, Mongoose. Valuev would most likely crush Haye and Chagaev in rematches, even though they are both obviously ATG caliber fighters in the prime of their lives. Valuev is twice the rematch king Tarver was.
