Agreed. Oscar could be devastating against smaller slower fighters who were there to be hit at this weight.even if Marquez counters well, Oscar is going to get him.
Marquez is much more well rounded than Oscar and would viscously counter his aggression, if JMM isn't getting blown out by Pacquaio, Oscar isn't doing it. I think JMM might actually pull this off, maybe not though as rangy jabbing and moving is a weakness with him but Oscar's lack of defense see him getting rained punches on at times.
Oscar below 140 is one of the most deadly fighters in those weight ranges. Far more deadly the Manny Pacquiao below 135. Yes, I said it, and I don't have any problem meaning it. He hit just as hard, he was about as fast, he was better(Manny's refinement has continued constantly, and I'd argue that he has come the distance to be called a technically sound fighter AFTER the JMM rematch) and he had one thing Pacquiao has always lacked that gives Marquez TONS of trouble whenever he encounters it-A great, thudding jab. Fighters with great sticks rarely miss Marquez with it, and with Oscars reach and speed, when he started tapping you with his left smoke, the left fire didn't wait long to burn ya. Add to that his length, and the fact that in his prime he was as tough and strong chinned as any fighter Marquez has fought, with a propensity to fire combinations in retaliation to being hit with the beard to withstand whatever comes back, and this match up predicts itself. Oscar KO8, and Im being REALLY generous to Marquez's heart and chin lasting him out that long.
JMM was a visibly better fighter at both 126 and 130 in my opinion. He's even more hittable at Lightweight, and Oscar had all of the tools to not only knock him out but get the better of him in most exchanges. Faster hands, bigger power, and a great jab. Marquez is just a "good" Lightweight. Nothing remotely special about him at this weight. Katsidis and Diaz almost knocked him out. Oscar KO8
Let me rephrase. The largely unspectacular Katsidis had JMM kissing the canvas, whereas powder puff hitter Juan Diaz had him doing a dance. That better, BE?
It's closer to the reality that exists outside your head, I suppose. I voted ODLH by knockout, by the way. That was not me throwing mine in for a JMM win.
