Kell Brook

I see where you are coming from, and I like both of them, but I think that Brook has been making silly mistakes in fights as he is actually bored, sees the opponents as a level beneath him. Eubank, Calzaghe, (Ricky) Hatton and others all had nights where they looked flat and made silly mistakes against lesser opposition, then a few months down the line they were in a title fight against a live opponent and looked great. Brook has looked patchy and stiff sometimes, recently, but I do think that it was the level of opposition. Much as I like (Matthew) Hatton, I think Brook would make him look ordinary.

I know we are both picking Brook, just wanted to answer the silly mistakes point.

 

Really? When has brook been hard to hit he is so upright with his chin up in the air its a real worry when he comes up against someone with a punch,I dare say alvarez hits harder than brook as well.

Im not sayin Brook wouldnt beat Hatton but its also a winnable fight for Hatton IMO

 

brooks opponents havnt been great but you can count on your hand the number of clean punches he's took! alvarez hits harder then brook imo, but he is very slow and you can see his punches coming brook hits hard from angles with good footwork, brook could just outjab hatton for the whole fight with ease if he wanted to.

 

The winner of Berto-Ortiz would be amazing. He'd destroy Mike Jones inside three rounds... but it would certainly get him noticed in America.

yeah Warren should do something quick as hes stuck Kells career on the backburner for too long. If Hatton promotions get him then good going, hes got more chance of exposure under Hatton.

Would Hatton ever have his best interests at heart when they have Matthew Hatton? Seriously doubt Hatton would defend the WBA interim title against him if he were to fight and beat Souleymane M'Baye.

The problem with putting Brook in a big fight now is that he's got absolutely no experience against top level opponents.

I don't deny that he's talented and fairly good to watch, but there's plenty of weaknesses within his game and/or question marks over certain things.

I'd put my house on Brook losing by stoppage to any of the top 10 WW's ranked by either Boxrec or the Ring. He's faced two domestic top 5 WW's in Jennings and Lomax - the Jennings performance was questionable, and the win over Lomax has been put into context with the performance of Frankie Gavin recently.

Matthew Hatton and Craig Watson would both offer stern tests..... Hatton would test his stamina and boxing ability, Watson both of those and his chin.

He might be ranked #1 by the WBO but for starters they ain't gonna give up a potential share in future Pacquiao fights with Mayweather & Marquez.... and also Warren knows that Brook isn't ready.

The problem is getting him the right sort of opponents to get him where he wants to be, when he wants to be there - without just throwing caution to the wind and hoping to get lucky.

 

Its all so difficult Matty would be a good choice as you say but he has his own agenda, its like Kell is stuck in a rutt, hes either gotta take the risk and step up or fight a top euro fighter, but the case is are there any willing to fight Kell??? Plus its Kell who wants to fight Williams, its better than being professionally procrastinated

 

Watson is the logical choice for so many reasons.

No, but he ahs comprehensively beaten O'Donnell (x2 IMO) and Matt Hatton....he's above Brook without a doubt.
