    Saw a thread like this in the general a while so thought i'd take the idea given as its probably the most fierce rivalry in Boxing and has given us many great fights. We can discuss up coming fights between the two nations or post an old fight. I'll start with one which is fresh in the memory and 1 that most posters will have an opinion on.

    Great, great fight this. i remember reading the fans comments in boxing news after the fight. It's just a shame a the fight is overshadowed by the jand wrap scandel, which, although very likely, cant be proven

    the idea wasnt to just post youtube videos, but to discuss the fights, i suppose Cotto Vs Margarito has been done to death so i'll throw another 1 in that i watched recently

    I know its been debated to death but Cotto-Margarito really ranks up there with my favourite ever fights. Cotto was so dominant early on, I couldn't believe Margarito came back. I had so much respect for both after the fight; I suppose it's a shame that we will never know for sure if the plaster had a part to play in the result

    Remember what everyone fought of cotto before the fight aswell. remember staying up to watch this on setanta but i had freeview and not sky in them days, i gutted to find out that they weren't airing after 03:00am and had to wait to 12 next day to watch it:yep

    I think it's more of a sporting rivalry. Heard a few fighters say that Puerto Ricans usually root for a Mexican when they're a fighting a non-Hispanic, likewise with Mexicans rooting for Puerto Ricans.

    How annoying did that used to be :lol:? Good old setanta! Luckily I was in my mates who had it with virgin for this fight but I remember the hassle I had with Woods-Tarver and others. Thank god Premier aren't the same

    I've always found the Puerto Rican fighters more skillful and aesthetically pleasing in terms of being very fast and skilled. The Mexicans have fundamentals and the heart and soul of there warrior nation. They will walk through it all and it seems most occasions they break the heart of the Puerto Rican fighters.
