anyone who seen the fights would clearly see the difference between morales's body in the first pacquiao fight and the raheem fight you cant even really blame the step up in weight because in the second pac fight back at 130 his body still looked out of shape and has never looked the same since now i know he destroyed his body to make weight but what can make it change that badly between one fight to the other?
Can you post of picture of what you're talking about? I haven't seen a difference. I know hes been working with new fitness trainers, but thats all I would I know.
He had been cutting weight for so long, starving himself, then probably binging afterwards, even down at 122 I think he was starting to feel sick. He matured like everyone, with thicker tendons, carrying more fat, even his skeletal structure growing a bit since he was at 122, and it looks like he really is genetically prone to carry a fair amount of fat throughout his thirties. All the up and down fluctuations, all the mexican food, his genetics (skinny as a rail from 15-27, starting to naturally put on fat in his 30s). I feel like this happens to a lot of small framed fighters who dont naturally put on muscle. any weight he puts on is a fair mix of fat and muscle, and to make weight he loses both and makes himself sick. Just maturity, and I've noticed the low weight/high fat physique a lot in Mexican fighters, who don't seem to have thick, heavy skeletons but DO seem to carry a lot of body fat, though they aren't heavy or obese by any stretch. Just genetically it seems a fair amount of them are thin kids and kind of fatter adults, as opposed to someone like Sugar Ray Leonard, who doesn't seem to have put on much weight at all over the years, though I doubt his physical activity has really matched his natural low fat physique.
And plus I hate to say it but after so many hard hard fights I think you lose the drive to really work out hard until you absolutely have to, he must feel like crap just walking around, honestly. He's put his body through the ringer over and over and over, in tough fight after tough fight. Like on fightcamp 360 I saw Mosley doing tricep pushups and dips, and we know he is strong as heck, but the motion seemed to be putting stress on his worn out, beaten physique. There's only so much you can get beaten before your body just doesn't have the same recuperative powers it did. Barrera is a mystery to me, that guy has taken hellacious beatings, came back strong time after time, and still has no slurring in his speech and speaks intelligently. Morales sounds like he's taken a few punches. More than a few punches. So does Chavez.
i didnt see much of a difference between morales of the first pac fight and morles the second. but i did see much of a difference between pac on those two fights.
Barrera does have a metal plate in his head. I wonder if that has anything to do with it :think On the other hand look at Rafael Marquez. Hes been stopped so many times and taken such beatings but hes still okay to talk.
drastic changes in weight between fights. He gains too much weight between fights and drops a LOT to get back to down his fighting weight. It kills ALL fighters who do it and suddenly they just hit this switch and their bodies just can't do it anymore. Hatton is another one that fits this mold.
Tahts who immediately struck my mind, Hatton's body didn't look the same in his last couple of fights.
ok i will find pictures but my internet is really slow at the moment but if you look at morales pac 1 and morales pac 2 look at his stomach and you tell me you dont see a difference i was rewatching morales pacquiao 2 before tho cas im gettin pretty excited about the maidana fight and on the british commentary jim watt says that morales said he cant do the work on his stomach that he used to do because his body cant handle it he said that before the fight so that might explain what i was thinking
ok looking for pics from the second fight is hard cause i can only ever find ones of him on the floor from the knockdowns but if you watch a video just look at the stomach he looks sorta bloated
