I still cant believe hoost got beaten by sapp. I think it was only because hoost wanted to stand and trade with sapp. In the second fight all he had to do to win was move around the ring a bit as sapp couldnt hit a moving target for **** and he was owning sapp because of it. Then after he dropped sapp he got confident and decided to stand and trade again and payed for it. Otherwise hoost would have schooled sapp easily
I tend to go with the principle thatthe best kickboxers kickbox and the best MMA fighters fight MMA. Now maybe as we enter an era where K-1 is so far behind the biggest MMA org that won't be the case in the future but it applies for Hoost and Silva. If Silva thought he could hang with kickboxers then why would he have gone to the trouble of having to learn jiu-jitsu and wrestling to compete in MMA?
A bit like Big Foot being wobbled by a LHW when Fedor couldnt even land cleanly with his 'elite' striking eh?
Same applies, A Silva is ineffective when someone bigger and taller limits the distance. It would be worse for A Silva though because he really doesnt have the same power behind his punches as Fedor. The problem is that A Silva has never fought a top level striker and only looks good because he is fighting mediocre strikers.
He was willing but Dana White scotched the deal http://fiveouncesofpain.com/2009/07/29/anderson-silva-has-signed-to-box-roy-jones-jr/
So your telling me that Lee Murray is a top class kickboxer or a top class boxer who outweighed Anderson Silva by 60 plus lbs? Give me a break, the guy was just another can to pad Anderson Silva's record.
WTF are you on about. I already said Hoost would **** Silva up but unlike you I'm objective. Lee Murray is very good striker.
Ask Morono to name some WW's who arent in the UFC that he says GSP is ducking. That will shut him up :thumbsup
