Norris is very underrated in my opinion but I can't see how he would deal with Hearns. Norris was an offensive machine but it often led to him getting KO'ed. He all too often stayed in the pocket and held his feet and should have been a more fluid mobile boxer rather than relying all too often on simply beating his opponent to the punch with power punches. Hearns had every advantage, 4 inches in height, 9.5 inches in reach, a jab that could stop Norris in his tracks, every time he mounted an attack. If Brown could drop him with a jab I struggle to see how Norris lasts more than a few rounds. In fact it lasts as long as Hearns wants it to go, as soon as he decides to take Norris out the fight is over.
yeah, I know what you mean... I mean how could Antonio Margarito, Sergio Martinez or Winky Wright possibly stand in front of Carlos Quintana? We all saw how Quintana took it to Williams. Of course, he lost the rematch after his massive upset, just like Brown, but hey facts are facts right?
Tommy would knock out Norris easily. As Bobby Czyz once said, if you don't have a chin or endurance you won't last in the ring with a Thomas Hearns. Hearns KO 4 Norris.
hearns would KO him, norris would come out throwing bombs showing no respect to tommy like he did with many of his opponents and get clocked, norris's speed would present tommy problems but the fight wouldnt last longer then 3 rounds, when tommy connects norris would be sparked, norris had ATG skills not doubt but his chin would be smashed into thousands of pieces. norris was rocked by ****in louis santana was dropped on his ass by a left jab of simon brown, and was dropped and looked on ***** street against some aussie who's name escapes me, this is mother****ing tommy hearns were talking about a prime P4P heaviest puncher of the entire sport
Likewise, it doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with the rest of the posters on the this thread, Norris gets sparked early. Just because we all pick Hearns doesn't mean we know nothing. It could be the reverse.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pncGgZl2MLw[/ame] John Mugabi, who you see here getting slaughtered by Terry Norris, gave Hagler the toughest fight of his life. But of course, Terry Norris is just a joke. Right guys? The fact is most of you guys have no ****ing clue who Terry Norris is or what he was capable. You just know Thomas Hearns, and your spastic ****ing reflex is to type that he destroys everyone ever known around his weight class because, again, at least you know who he is. I call it the Pryor-Duran syndrome.
WHo in the hell is Robert Hutchens?? You mean Ernie Singeltary? Well those 2 had rock chins, especially Minchillo and one other thing thats when Hearns was fighting in his Motor city cobra style... Believe this Norris would have gotten the Hitman version... Norris also tended to fight aggressive and that would play into Tommys style,..... Even if he boxed cautiously he would engage Tommy at one point and thats when he gets:dead He fights cautiously and he makes it to 6 or 7 rounds tops... He engages the Hitman and its not going past 2.... Bad matchup for Norris his only chance is too land a haymaker but more times than not Tommy gets their first.. And his chin was iron compared to Norris's.
Mugabi was past it and never the same after Hagler.... Besides Terry is lucky he got her first if he tried this **** with Tommy he would get splattered... **** Simon Brown knocked him out with a damn jab for christs sakes.
Hearns took bombs from Hagler and Leonard, and took a good Duran right. I am not sure Hearns had a glass jaw. It was not dependable. but had it been glass he would not have been a great fighter. and he is great.
oh yeah, he was so past it... 30 yrs old, knocked out his last 11 opponents and had just won the WBC jr. middle belt. Really, really past it old John Mugabi was hahahahaha
