not that im taking any credit from b-hop, the man went up 2 weight divisions to dethrone tarver

but in his last bout against jones, jones put in about 2 rounds of effort, spending the rest of the fight trying not to get knocked out

and still could have stopped tarver in the last round when tarver looked completely ****ed

tarver then goes huge to face rocky

then has to lose the weight to face hopkins

we saw the effects te weight had on jones, who looked impressive in his last fight before going heavyweight, and looked impressive at heavy weight

tarver on the other hand looked like **** before going up, and didnt even put on weight whilst staying in fighting condition

    then had to lose it

makes me believe tarver was completely there for the taking and b-hop just happened to be the guy who took the opportunity

The one and only time ive been blown away by Hopkins is Trinidad , he was impressive against Tarver and Pavlik and for the most part i really dont like to watch him , he has acheived a lot , he is a genuine role model , but he's terrible to watch .

Things to consider for a good win

    - BHop came out of retirement
    - Lost his previous two fights to Taylor
    - Moved up two weight classes and fought the best LHW there
    - Knocked Tarver down
    - Tarver was the main man around the time
    - 40 year old is not 46 year old but still
    - Hopkins won the fight very easily shutout

    BUT

    - Tarver beat up bums and a shot jones jr
    - Had to lose alot of weight before hand
    - Tarver is an ex crackhead

No and to suggest so is a crazy.

Not Bhop problem is Tarver was unprepared - which he wasn't.

    being unprepared wasnt the problem,

but we all saw how crap he looked against a roy jones who could have won the fight by ko in the last round despite doing nothing for the rest of the fight

the weight must have been an issue aswell

Well first off didn't Tarver said to Roy Jones in the rematch "You got any excuses tonight Roy?" <<In which Tarver feels Roy Jones barely beat him in the first fight is not cause of losing weight. So if Tarver feels Roy was fit and was in 100 percent healthy moving down to light heavyweight then Tarver or anybody else here shouldn't make excuses as to why Hopkins beat the crap out of Tarver in a shutout.

    Johnson, Joppy, Echols 1 & 2, Mercado 1 & 2, Allen 2, Taylor 1, Aquino, and Pascal are worth a watch. Cheers.

To anser the OP, No. Tarver was the man to beat at the weight and after the questionable Taylor losses Hopkins moved up and beat him. Put on a clinic.
