He also was a jittery mess in the Forrest rematch. I just don't think Shane can beat an A level boxer-type. Mayweather had his number and it's unfortunate he couldn't have beat him when they were much younger despite who's fault that is.
Agreed with the majority of this post. I don't think a much younger Floyd would've fought a much younger Shane like that and if he hurt Floyd like when they did fight, Mosley would've won. I also think DLH's "success" against Floyd gets overexaggerated, he only won 4 rounds at best still making it a clear 8-4 or 9-3 victory for Mayweather. Shane was old and coming off a long layoff and I don't see why people ignore this. He'll be old coming into the Pacquiao fight too but much more active than he was previous to fighting Mayweather.
watch the fight again, towards the end of the 2nd round Floyd was landing CLEANLY on Mosley, and the shots were clearly bothering him...i believe there was a straight right that landed (might have been a hook, i'm not sure), and you could see the pain in Mosley's face...will people stop acting like Mayweather wasn't hitting Shane and Shane just gassed out.
Its a dumb theory that he gassed out after 2 rounds. His work-rate stayed roughly the same as the first two rounds (refer to the compubox numbers). Just people looking for an alternative to the fact that Mayweather is the reason Shane looked that way. If Shanes 'red blood cell count' was low, I imagine Floyd's would have been also since they took the same tests. There also was an aggressor change after round 2. Where Shane was bringing the fight to Floyd in rounds one and two, Floyd got far more aggressive and was bringing the fight to Shane from round 3 on. The important thing to notice is the shift in accuracy by Mosley after round 2. This indicates an adjustment by Mayweather. Perhaps his aggression wasn't the same considering he wasn't landing shots at the same clip, and was lured into a boxing match.
Mosley was already training for the a fight with Berto before he fought Mayweather. It's possible that he was overtrained.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t444ZQ4PVuM[/ame] Fast foward to the 3rd round and you tell me if it was Mosley gassing or Mayweather's superior hand speed and aggressiveness. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpCyJObXqrw&feature=related[/ame] Now look at the 12th rd and tell me Mosley wasn't fighting hard in that 12th for someone that supposedly gassed out 10rds ago.
Close the ****ing thread. These ignorant ass trolls don't know **** about boxing and just look to hate any chance they get. Yeah he gassed that's why Mosley threw more punches in the second half of the fight than he did in the first.:deal
This post will go ignored. The fact is Mosley has always struggled with boxers he was getting beat to the punch getting countered and over-thinking out there.
Of coarse he gassed, even against Cotto he was blowing at the end of the fight, his mouth was open. Against Mayweather, you could see with the naked eye that there was less and less on his punches as the fight wore on, and even against Mora, he tried to be active the whole fight, but he was arm punching to stay busy.
