Scottish Heavyweight Gary Cornish

Never heard of him so don't think he can have much of an amateur back ground.

On another note, Scottish Superheavyweight champion and commonwealth games representative Ross Henderson has gone pro. No information over which promoter yet though.

 

Is that the guy who was in the paper the other week? he's about 6 8? was interesting, probably the biggest scottish fighter Ive ever seen.

 

I think i remeber seeing an article that he was a striker for brora rangers (higland League team) up north so must be resonably athletic too.


Does anyone know what happened to Andrew young from Inverness? I think he got bronze at the commonwealth games a while ago at heavyweight. I saw he turned pro but only had a couple of fights.

 

He won the Scottish super heavy last year, beat Mick Mcdonagh in the final, but was a mismatch in terms of size and weight. He is huge, must be 6,8 at least and about 18-19stone.

Think he has only had 12-13 fights and won a fair amount of them by KO.

Turned pro a few weeks before the Scottish this year, and his reason cited was that he was avoided in Scotland- strange as he would have had the chance to fight Ross Henderson who someone above mentions, who hadnt fought in the Scottish the year previously as he was Scotland's representative at the Commonwealth games.

I know Ross Henderson has moved to Billy Nelson's gym, think he will be promoted by Alex Morrison.

 

Andrews back training, got his license sorted a few weeks ago.......been out with injurys.

Cornish had 9 fights as an amateur, won all by stoppage.....i think

Getting matchups wasnt easy, he can box and likes to fight too........gonna be interesting.

People down the road said that Cornish would of walked all over Henderson.

I used to play football against him when I was about 16, he was ****ing tall then, scored twice from his own half once IIRC

ross henderson tried to get a bout with him a few times and gary's coach wasn't too keen on the fight.

 

They should put him on a couple of Lee McAllister undercards.

No hes not hes got work commitments for the next 8 months so wont be turning over. He was going to be trained by me and managed by Alex Morrison

He was pretty highly talked about then became so inactive due to injuries and so on. Think he broke his leg or something. After a while i think people just started thinking he didn't want it.

Spoke too soon about Ross then, I think it was on facebook I saw it last week, that's ashame he'll be out for a while.
