I'm not certain that Berg will cope with Hatton throughout. Doesn't have too much pop to dissuade him IMO. Now if I'd said Ricky Vs Canzoneri I'd be taking the **** Anyway, I'm more interested in talking about Ted Lewis now. Can anyone justifiably hype him to the max? I'm well aware the Britton series is astounding....but is it simply that coupled with a, dare I say it, Yory Boy Campas-esque 'sometimes I still win' guy across loads of weights? When I first started looking into the history if boxing, Ted 'Kid' Lewis was one of the few names I knew I had to check out. I'd heard his name a few times in my youth. I wasn't astounded then, and even with a better historical base than I had when I was about 15, I'm still not massively impressed. Apart from Britton. Maybe I'm omitting something important and I'll go 'oh, yeah he is brilliant' :rofl

i think berg because he was from an era when more infighting was allowed would hold the edge thier and strength of lung could be very important berg would out work hatton . we will never agree on this :yep
I'll be honest, I don't rate Terry Marsh at that level. Tough, fit, good workrate, good chin but I think he loses to a hell of a lot of 140lb champs in H2Hs.

incidentally berg was top rated at lightweight but never got a tittle shot and holds a win over canzoneri at lightweight so does he have a better win at lightweight than buchanan . as it could perhaps be suggested that laguna was possibly on the way down and in any case was not in the same league as canzoneri as a lightweight at any point in his career
yeah against hatton marsh would have to box and not fight the way he did in his world tittle fights, but then marsh was always a boxer until his world tittle fights
Nice bit of footage that, Lewis showed some nice pop there. I am very much of the opinion that a top class fighters can beat someone much bigger if that fighter is average (not every time, but for instance I imagine Manny Pac would probably beat Matthew Macklin ) despite giving up weight. I'm still not convinced that Lewis, OUTSIDE OF BRITTON, is actually any more accomplished than say, Guillermo Jones. (runs for his life and ducks for cover!)
