On another note........


Given where we are, it aint like theres gyms next door like Glasgow/Edinburgh for sparring etc.

No gym either, 1 hour a night, usually 6-7 pm in a community hall with 5 bags..........there used to be 10.

Result.......10 Scottish champions, 1 Bronze medal at the Commonwealths, 1 world (services) champion.....theres probably others i forgot.

One year there was 3 Scottish champions.....Andrew Young, Sandy Robb, Scott Mackay........plus Sandy Bartlett who lost in his final (am told he won)

Theres also been Scottish Jr Champions, Senior finalists and Female champions.......though i forget there full names.

All within 15 years....maybe less............pretty damn good.



Scott Ross and Jasper Chisolm have also turned Pro, Ross won on points over 6x2's last week on his debut.

Millarvie was with Harrison back in the day if i remember right.

Cornish is no Millarvie.....i can assure ya :good

 

i always got the impression millarvie lost intrest i remeber gilmour releasing a statement saying he wasent goung to promote him etc ...

 

Dont know Millarvie maself but i was told he was doing well with his plastering company or something.

Ah, Billy must have been being sarcastic when he asked who millarvie was haha. I've had too many shots to the head :bbb

 

Shame about Millarvie he was quite a good prospect but abit injury prone broke his leg while training in catskills NY before another fight in America.

Didnt get down cause of work (working f/t is truly ruining ma program)

He is working the corner this weekend in the novice Scottish championships so am told (Laurie Redfern is on International duty)

I saw his final sparring session b4 the fight, he was in good shape. Considering his height looks in good shape, probably still to develop some more man strength as well

 

See he's on the undercard for the Lee McAllister fight next month,

would be wrong not to check him out with this show being only an hours drive away.

 

hes fighting in decemberon the first ever pro boxing show in inverness
