Why Chavez Jr? You should have used Calzaghe as comparison. Calzaghe has 2 sure HOFs on his resume, but Mayweather has 3.

 

Over the past two years, all of a sudden, for some reason losses make the fans rank you higher both P4P and all time. Apparently losses can only do good for career assessments. Getting starched bad makes Linares a nobody and makes PWill disrespected to no end, but Pacquiao getting totaled twice in the 3rd is never spoken of and deemed irrelevant. His several close fights are never looked at in the same light similar circumstances for other fighters are. Time will tell. Genaro Hernandez is a better boxer than anyone Pac has ever fought JMM excluded and Pac lost both those bouts regardless of the decision. (2)Genero Hernandez - The champion and pretty much at the peak of his career at the time he fought Mayweather. Fought Floyd at the same weight class he fought at for 3/4ths of his career.

At his ideal division/weight when he fought Floyd? Yes
Shot at the time he fought Floyd? Absolutely not.

(3)Arturo Gatti - By no means in his prime when he fought Floyd, but would the results have been any different? Some thought Floyd might lose thinking that Arturo was too big for him.
