Heard there was a lot of trouble trying to get a venue. Apparently the police don't want a crowd of Irish barbarians drinking in their city? Must be getting us confused with Govan and Ibrox's finest :deal
Took ages to find the right venue and we kissed a lot of frogs but we got our first preference in the end thankfully.
Just looked up this Bar38 on street view and I've been there before! Got kicked out of some dive across the road I think, a place on three levels, for chucking beer mats. Good times. Roll on Manchester and the passes have arrived :thumbsup
Mine aint, I think I've had my first ever knock back back for a pass. They also told Kavanagh I couldnt come up and watch him spar today as the gym is closed to journos - I think they have spat their dummy out. Time to stir some shít in retaliation. So I went round the Manchester gyms with the Dudey Army posters and got photos with them holding up the poster in support of El Duderino.
:-( that's bad form, were u talking to Jamie ???? **** sake the world of boxing does not revolve around team Khan and like you were going up to see Jamie not Amir.
Yeah, spoke to him at lunchtime. He has a media workout at 12.30pm in the Triangle on Tuesday anyway so I will see him then.

Its almost becoming embarrassing now :good Wonder how many of the young lads coming through will go pro in the future? Even if its not with Irish promoters, there must be promoters in the UK eyeing up our amateurs? Nice hearing about lads winning medals in the vest, but would be nice to see a few more lads with titles around their waist as well :deal
I can think of a lot of good irish amateurs who would make good pros, and im sure a good lot of them will eventually turn over to the pro game. Especially lads with styles suited to the pros, like Sutcliffe and David Oliver Joyce. Maybe John joe Nevin and Darren O neill aswell? Im sure a good few names will turn pro after london 2012 anyways:good
I've wanted O'Neill to go pro for ages, but the lads on here say he is happy to stay as an amateur and be a teacher. I assume these lads won't be getting the same funding due to the cut backs, so therefore going pro might be a better option? On the otherhand, a lot of pros are struggling to get fights, as promoters are struggling to make money. I think Warren will sign up more Irish lads. He probably sees that there is potential in Ireland to firstly, improve his own stable by signing lads who were successful amateurs and secondly, he probably sees that there is the potential to make money in Belfast and Dublin. Ditto for Matchroom
id say and hope derll be a deluge of top class irish ams turnin pro between now and after london especially after london were goin to be spoiled at the end of the day we all support pro boxing more than am boxing so hopefully the majority turn over id say there will be planty of promoters in us and britain aswell as ireland lookin for their signatures
