its in Danish, but the highlights are that his eye is healed, begins sparring next weekend (I think I translated that part right) his weight is good, eating right and will have another status update soon.

Surely an injury like this is always going to be at risk

Nice to hear Bute will fight a fully healthy Kessler not the "Cyclops" that beat Froch

    Remarkable ....

Kessler suffers a career ending eye injury, weeks later HE'S CURED

Dirrell suffers a career ending cerebral injury, weeks later HE'S CURED

Question: Is the Super Six cursed OR blessed?

To be fair to Kessler, he never claimed his injury was career ending just that it would put him out of action too long to remain in the tournament. Dirrell just didn't fancy taking on Ward.

Froch will have a hilarious view on this comeback no doubt

''i beat him into a long spell on sidelines but over time it's eaten away at him...knowing i beat him up so bad he had to pull out of super six. He's a fine warrior and he knows he needs to come back and let me beat him and even up the score in record books...he knows this! he told me!''

*Froch sucks air in thorough his hooter and looks away from camera looking hard as nails!*

I always wondered if Kessler really was injured, i have him suspected for sneaking his way through a shortcut to meet the winner of Super Six...

he never said it was career ending, plus it was Montoya that made the decision and forced him to pull out, he made him "see" sense so to speak!

A year is 52 weeks is it not?

Anyway I was being facetious, and is the name calling really necessary?

You call me an 'idiot' but you're the person who was almost in tears last weekend when people started a Huck v Nakash RBR despite your increasingly pathetic pleas against it

'other people are watching on tape delay, please stop'

    Fine ....

It'll be great to see him back but now he's got the dilemma of every time he fights, and things not going his way, of this eye issue reoccuring. Messrs Bute and Froch will go after the patched eye in a big way.

There's still big fights out there for Kessler but he doesn't beat Bute or Froch in a rematch these days.

Okay if you wish to be a pedant it does state a 'NEAR career ending injury' ...

Former super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler is preparing for a comeback fight that is going to take place in his country of Denmark before the summer. Kessler's promoter, Sauerland Event, is looking over possible opponents. Canada's Renan St-Juste has been mentioned, but the boxer is only one of the several names being considered.

In 2010, Mikkel withdrew from the Super Six tournament with a

. He is finally recovered enough to begin his comeback plans.

"In mid-April, we should know where the fight will take place and we'll know who the opponent is," said promoter Kalle Sauerland. "Renan St-Juste is high on the list but only one of the many names that we are discussing. I'm not worried about that Mikkel being rusty, and neither is Mikkel. He had previously taken a break for a year without any problems. Mikkel is motivated by big fight, and his next fight will be a great match."

The comeback bout will be the first step of two-fight plan. The second part of the plan is a fall showdown with IBF champion Lucian Bute. Talks for a Bute-Kessler bout have already begun. Sauerland doesn't want to look too far ahead and wants focus his energy on the comeback fight.

"Mikkel has insisted to me that he will give his loyal Danish fans a great gift before the summer with a comeback fight. He wishes to live up to that. And therefore I can not even discuss a match against Bute because that fight is not going to happen in Denmark. The first match is in Denmark, and Bute is not the adversary," Sauerland said
