Don't know the situation in the Rep, but within the UK, teachers are being asked to stay on in their role for longer. Getting supply teachers in is costing too much. Keeping your teaching job is almost a luxury, as classes are getting bigger and teachers are being laid off. Would be great if O'Neill does go pro but I'm sure it will be a difficult decision for him.

There are no new jobs for graduates and hence why people are going abroad to teach. I know two girls who are going to teach in Qatar next year because there is **** all in the UK. Not sure what the situation is in the Rep, but I'm sure Mr Kenny will have a plan to sort it...

there are loads that would make good pros , gallagher , mcloughlin , con shehan , donovan ,barnes , burnett , conlon , phelan , ward , and many more .

the Irish market can be a very good one if the boxer is promoted in the right way , look at the crowds rogie was pulling and Dunne and Casey .

lets hope some big promoters sign these lads up as they are flying in the ams.

Warren seems to be signing up Irish lads but he moves his fighters painfully slow. He has too many fighters compared to not enough tv dates and he wont leave anyone take other fights on other peoples small off tv shows. Matchroom have done a pretty good job with mccloskey and Hearn jr is clearly interested in the boxing market with the signings of Barker, Brook and Frampton. You would imagine they will be interested in more Irish fighters if theyre going to have Carlos headlining in Belfast again. Wonder if wee Barry will raid the Irish ams after London and take em to matchroom

I finally got the northern editor to include some southern boxing in the Ulster edition, so my bit should be carried in the Ulster edition tomorrow. Talked to McCloskey ahead of the fight and hope to run stuff all week. Will try to include screen shots up on this during the week too.
