looking at the hennesseysports website, 5 of his remaining 13 boxers are Canadian, so maybe he's looking to gradually move his promotional company over to Canada. Uk: junior witter, tyson fury, john o donnell, lenny daws, danny mcintosh, adnan amar, superbad steve barnes, phil fury Canada: Logan Mcguiness, andrew singh kooner, matt o brien, tyler asseltine, samuel vargas i wonder who will sign superbad??? :think
his contract is probably still active. it doesn't mean he has to do the work. simular to the rhodes and warren management thing. warren never did any managment work but was still rhodes manager by law so still got his 10%
Agree with you both, Di Bella would be a good move for Carl. I hope Lou makes it has a top promoter has he as been around the sport a long time and knows it inside out. I think him and Froch would be a good fit. I hope it's true Carl has left Mick, because he seemed to be holding him back. Saying that though Carl's last five fights have been at the very top level.
I think Mick would be a good manager - he always looks out for his fighters but as a promoter he doesn't seem up to it. He's rubbish at getting his fighters 'out there'.
beeston is right he will remain a free agent. even if he loses to ward theres 10 fights he could make for 7 figure pay days due to his style. Pascal, Hopkins, Cloud, Cleverly, DeGale, Bute, Kesser....
How did they do a balls up they put together a decent undercard initially, better than many undercard that Frank Warren or Hayemaker have put on and everything fell apart. Macklin withdrew because he had a fight with Sturm lined up, Rees pulled out because of injury, Crolla refused to fight anyone once Rees pulled out, Quigg pulled out with Injury, Rahman agreed to come over and then rejected the opportunity.
I think the Hatton's should have thought more about putting Macklin on the card. He's got lots of form for pulling out of fights for various reasons - if I were a promoter I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. By the time Macklin went walkies it was too late to get a satisfactory chief support for the card.
Macklin is just a tit full stop. He's ****ed every promoter around and now has little alternative but to go to Golden Girl. Usually I'd side with the fighter over the promoter, but Hatton managed to get Macklin a shot, glass jawed opponent in Manchester for the European title on their first show. Then he upped and left without giving them the chance to sort out his next fight. Not sure about Crolla, would seem a strange time to make a move elsewhere. He's already left Warren.... who else is there, unless the Hearns are throwing money at him :think
About time. I don't know how Mick stayed in business. He must fund it from his other investments. He is a terrible businessman who pissed away a tv deals and a shot at terrestial tv. Only good thing he did was get his fighters to go the traditional route.
