Obviously it affected him but I can't imagine him just not responding if he physically could have round after round of eating punches in the ring, don't imagine him doing much better on a good night. Shane's technique was sharpened by Nazim and his body was able to execute a good performance one last time. Sharp jabs, head movement, combinations instead of loading up on the right hand, good punching technique-with Shane's speed and power, he was able to take all of those things and destroy Margarito. I don't think a level headed Margarito could do anything differently against that, at least not enough to win.
