I was talking with Thread about this fight and both think this a very good matchup....Ive never seen this matchup here on the Classic... Who do you guys like? Im thinking a prime Macho wins this fight by decision close but clear decision IMO.

Camacho's lateral movement would be the deciding factor in the fight,in my view.Nelson could be pretty awful when it came to cutting the ring off,and Camacho was capable of making plodders look very, very ordinary.

Not sure when Azumah looked like a plodder....the worst I saw was against Whitaker clearly out of Nelsons best age and weight. I don't think Camacho was seasoned enough to deal with the professor who would stalk Camacho all night, with power on the level of Rosario and skills beyond. I do think Camacho is slick enough to avoid getting KO'd more likely than not...The best Camaco fought at 130 was an ancient Limon and Solis...While I think Azumah is a better FW than SFW, he would be seasoned enough and still persistant enough (Plodder????) to take a 116-112 decision!!!

The professor takes the macho man to school!

Nelson was never that great at 130. And the person who said he couldn't handle movement is right about the 130 pound version of Nelson. Hector at that weight is too fast for Azumah and he would win a wide decision.

Camacho. Not close. Camacho too fast and too dazzling. Azumah thinks he's surrounded.

From 1989-96 he was rated as the # 1 JLW/130 fighter in the world??? I agree that he was better at Feather, but he was good enough to be competitive with just about anybody at that weight. Even in 82-83 when Camacho was nearing his prime he was not rated as high as Nelson...We will have to agree to disagree, but I would be interested in knowing who these guys were with movement that troubled nelson??? From 82-94 he only lost 2 fights to Salvador Sanchez when no one even knew who nelson was and to Whitaker at LW...The closest fights he had were really Villasana, Mario Martinez (In Nelsons first fight at 130) and Suarez before he KO'd Lupe...Not sure why Camacho's speed would kill him or what it is based on???

In a lesson of speed, Camacho makes the Professor look like the student.

Camacho was a bigger, longer and faster fighter than Nelson. Hector would be way too fast for the Professor, who is won of my favorite fighters of all time.

I think that's the key right there.

Nelson could crack with both hands, and Camacho was a fragile ***** with a history of falling apart and/or avoiding big punchers.

I'd favor Nelson to dominate down the stretch and win a clear decision.

camacho by a ud he spends most of the fight going backwards quickly with a frustrated nelson chasing his shadow

Camacho would take a big lead early on... But Azumah huts him in the mid to late rounds and has Camacho on his bike.. BUt its a little to late..

Camacho by close but clear decision.
