    glass jaws exist in boxing!!!!!!!!!!!

    and all that bollox

nah i dont think so. hurt whenever a puncher got to him but his lack of real good backfoot defence lead to him being pretty hittable. he could box and move well for a puncher-stalker. but he was vulnerable. which made him dangerous but he was always being hit. norris in 1 round sowed how cliff faced his defence was. but he could take a shellacking before succumbing. and usually got up, even though dazed. glass jaw he is not

and seperate clause. glass jaw needs to be reserved to specific specimen

Certainly not. Shaky, sure, as in able to be hurt/wobbled by solid blows from solid punchers, but by no means glass or outright weak. He had a decent chin. I don't think he was quite as hard mentally as many others, though, regardless of the stylishness of his mannerisms in the ring when he hurt the opponent.

It was on the high end of things, like a Steuben glass jaw, as opposed to cheap hollywood sugar glass.

Well i use to think his chin was a little shaky until i saw his fight with Thomas Tate live... This was a give and take war with Tate showing an iron chin taking Jacksons bombs..... And Jackson showed a good beard himself taking some big shots from Tate who could punch a little himself.

Although i do remember hearing that JUlian Jackson was knocked out cold by a line drive in a softball game early on in his career.

No but he's similar to with Trinidad & Marquez. They'll get knocked down or stunned with a big shot but usually are still in the fight. I do not think he had the recovery powers as they did but he had a shaky chin, not a glass one. Against Mccallum he was out of it but still on his feet and against Mcclellan he still toke some good shots before succumbing so his chin was alright and definitely not glass.

As the OP said. McClellan is one of if not the hardest puncher at 160.

McCallum and McClellan are two of the best hitters at middle... Chin was pretty good, only the top tier guys could crack it. And when you fight JJ, you had to have a great chin because he could really crack... And he was always in the fight with that kind of power... Now if he was stopped by mediocre fighters, then that is a china chin. Only the best could crack him.

He was a puncher with not a great jaw but a guy like Jackson was going to have to take more chances to use his power. That gives the opponent more chances to nail him too.

How can being beaten ny Mccallum and the hardest hitting middleweight ever mean he had a glass jaw?

All this boring, one-tone chinchecking **** needs to stop
