It definitely would now. :yep No way does Devon make any attempt to war with Erik after seeing that.

I actually think a good next step for Morales would be to appear on free TV with someone like a Herman Ngoudjo or Edner Cherry - someone who is lively enough for him to not let the air out and deliver another stinker, but who he should be able to pretty easily beat (and shine against) on a good night like tonight.

That'll raise his visibility and create demand for the big money/legacy match he really wants (Marquez) and is probably going to inevitably push for anyway if he stays in the game.

 

I think Maidana's been fairly overrated since the Ortiz bout, but then Alexander is overrated too. I don't put Alexander on the same level with Khan/Bradley/Marquez at all. And Judah? Really? He got a gift over Corley and then rallied with a KO against Mabuza after looking pretty damn bad and getting bossed around the ring.

Morales didn't show he can hang with the top tier at 140 (Khan/Bradley/Marquez) - but he can most certainly hang with the 2nd tier, which Maidana is certainly part of...and so is Alexander.

 

So...up or down to avoid becoming a gatekeeper? :blood

He probably won't be able to impose his strength on welterweights, and he's too big for lightweight. So he's pretty much stuck where he is, for better or worse.

 

Well there wasn't a UFC to my knowledge. There was a big Strikeforce card (which I'm still trying to avoid spoilers on..) - but they're now owned by the same parent company so you could call lump it in with the UFC I guess.

Does anyone know what the ratings were for the Strikeforce card on Showtime, versus the PPV buys for Action Heroes? :think

The SF card was heavily promoted across the Showtime network family. It would be quite a coup for boxing if they managed to overshadow a ubiquitously-advertised free card with a PPV (especially one that a lot of people thought would be a mismatch )

Marquez-Diaz II stands at #20 with 1,265 replies. :scaredas: No other RBR thread ranks higher. #1-#19 are all mostly Expresses (and Kirk's yearly fight prediction league threads).

As a RBR guy it's so maddening not knowing if your play by play posts will even finish submitting by the time the next round starts. (refresh...refresh...Refresh...REFRESH!! :fire)

It's gotten to the point where I actually write all my round reports in a .txt file in Notepad and then copy/paste it into the reply box and hit submit at the end of the round (because if you get a "connection reset" error and then hit the Back button your browser...YOU LOSE EVERYTHING YOU TYPED UP AND GET A FRESH EMPTY REPLY BOX INSTEAD! :cus)
