I honestly think that was a terrible stoppage. He wasn't hurt. There was way more grounds for stopping Marquez in the first Pac fight than this one. However very happy for Ishida. He must be on top of the world right now.

Never respected or liked Kirklands ability in the ring, not surprising that he got knocked out, although i thought that KO would come against some better fighters rather than Ishida.

But we still dont know he isnt Champion material... remember he is quite young, came just frm Prison and is seemingly on ringrust.
Now he is in biggest test of his career to Show if he got The heart and the desire of Great champ to fight his way back to top.
That is what is all about.

This just might be a good lesson for James Kirkland in a long run.

Kirkland was caught cold. I dont agree with the premature stoppage, it was harsh.

 

And keep getting a rematch untill he wins No no, something like this should not even be able to happend once if Kirkland was the real deal! If he just had night-off and looked rusty loosing a close decision (or a draw) a rematch could be apreciated, but the fact is he got knocked down 3 times and stopped by a featherfisted opponent most people never heard about! Thats not even worth a rematch, i think people knows what to expect from Kirkland now..
