Hall v Donnelly / Katsidis v Guerrero / Maidana v Morales RBR!

Yep, apart from Marquez I'd fancy Guerrero over anyone at lightweight. Soto and Rios would make for a good clash of styles but like last night you'd expect Guerrero to use his physical advantages and box his way to a win.

Marquez has got to be looking for a big fight now. I think he'll be looking at 140 now.

What's really **** for Warren and Murray is Guerrero picked up the WBO interim strap last night

Maidana should have tried to box with Maidana. Limond schooled Morales when he boxed, but if you slug it out with Morales, you won't win.

That fight was a draw. Feel knackered, but was worth it!

It was a close fight and tough to score. I don't think it was a robbery and as surprising as Morales' performance was, Maidana still won enough rounds to get the decision to me. 116-112 isn't as wide as some people seem to think. It's only really a 2 round swing.

Anyway really good fight card.

Glad Kirkland got a little humbled but his interview afterwards was funny. "Just 3 flash knockdowns".

Katsidis must be getting near the end now. Nearly every one of his fights he finishes with his eyes battered and cheeks really swollen. Impressive performance from Guerrero though. Boxed really well and traded at times too.

Malignaggi also looked finished. He doesn't look to have learnt anything new from his last 2 or 3 fights but I still think he'll get one more decent fight despite probably losing it.

115-113 Maidana was my score last night but it was 1 of them swings and roundabouts fights that required so much quality or quantity preference when scoring just thought Maidana had banked enough rounds early on. Happy for El Terrible as if the mans got $ problems this epitome of a brave performance keeps him firmly in peoples minds and as flea mentioned JMM-Morales at 140 now would have relevence to complete this eras 'Fab 4' something id like to see

 

115-113 either way is FINE.

114-114 was how I had it, there's only gonna' be a round here and there, most rounds it's either Maidanas workrate or Morales snappy work in the last minute or so.

One thing is for sure, one man looked closer to being stopped and it wasn't the veteran :yep

 

no way morales has financial problems, he done that film for free and donates his salary back to his community.

Can't blame the gloves for Maidana's lack of accuracy.

I scored the fight for Maidana in the end. I just don't think Erik won enough rounds in there and a lot are scoring it for him based on emotion and amazement at how well he performed which is kind of understandable. But Maidana did enough to narrowly win this. That said he wasn't great at all and Morales is definitely not resurgent or anything like that. He still has the smarts and the skills but physically he wasn't top notch at all. His feet aren't great. I think he'd probably be shown up by a better boxer.

Maidana needs to go back to the drawing board, he was abysmal really. Nobody is going to confuse him as an advanced pressure fighter but I've seen a lot more thought in his punching in the past.

This, pretty much. When I heard 116-112 on the scorecards though, I did think that it was Maidana's, he was more likely to win by that margin.

 

It's just so weird how Limond was easily outboxing Morales till the knockout, but Maidana, a hard puncher struggled in every round.

The Gloves could well be. Roach said that was the reason they lost the Morales fight when Pacquiao fought him, because of Winner gloves, then the next fight, Morales get's stopped....
