Khan will completely outclass the Paddy and stop him inside 10 rounds.

 

Morales is a soon to be HOFer, 3 weight world champion and one of the few people to have legitimately beaten the current P4P champion.

McCloskey is a hypejob and a bum. He wouldn't last that first round with either Maidana or Morales.

I guess he just means as opposed to Marquez who 'could' have beaten Pacquiao.

It made a difference because Watson defended better and nullified Benns swinging punches. Benn was 22 wins 22 KOs at the time of that fight, Maidana swings with his punches. If khan had used that style against Maidana he`d have had Maidana so frustrated and exhausted and could maybe have finished him off later. Khan made the cardinal sin against a wild slugger by pulling away from the punches rather than stepping away or staying up close.

 

I don't think Khan is capable of the things you are describing. His defence are his feet.

 

Yeah, as seen in last nights fight Morales showed Maidana cant fight on the back foot.

 

It's all very well people keep saying Maidana can't fight off the back foot, most pressure fighters can't. It's still not that easy to force him onto the backfoot because he does hit solidly. More solid than nearly all his opponents. Most kids at the moment don't have the heart and chin to stand up to Maidana and push him back. Not many people with the courage and chin of Morales exist. Bradley might be capable of it but thats about it. Khan basically just outspeeded him and Kotelnik by no means pushed him back.

 

Yep, although Maidana has some obvious deficiencies, he does what he does fairly well.

A brutish, strong slugger who will gladly get buzzed for the opportunity to throw.

He is however a sloppy finisher. And I don't believe that Khan 'out boxed him', he throws flurries that constantly lead him closer into danger, I wouldn't say he outmanouvered him any more than Morales did. Khan got through on sheer speed, and when that didn't work, tried his newly-honed defensive skills until Maidana punched himself out. Morales seemed to dig in with shots more, that's due to his technique though. While his legs have seemingly decided to pack up and leave, he still knows where to place his feet :yep

Maidana is good, but not unbeatable. Considering how Morales fared last night I'd say that Maidanas style is becoming less effective. He makes the same mistakes and potential opponents will have a better idea of how to aprpach him.

Same thing goes for Khan IMO. He's got a Helluva lot of fine tuning to do before he fights Bradley IMO, I'm not quite sure where this perception of Khan being a 'boxer mover' comes from, wishful thinking I guess.

 

Yes i think your right, but its something id try and ingrain in his head. Pulling away from a sluggers punch is crazy.
Maybe a combo of both plans is best. using his distance and footwork is good but at somepoint Maidana will cut the ring off and get in close,thats where Khan needs a better defence, more pivoting rather than pulling away.. Skipping round the ring will catch up with khan.
Watson`s Peeko boo was hard for benn to get through`s and he kept ramming the jab in benns face. Maybe Khan doesnt have to be so energetic maybe a more poised and controlled approach is best.

 

Maybe he should just wing it with his natural handspeed and hope he gets a bit of luck?

 

Khan never moves at the waist like Morales did last night. He just never does it. And even if he could is it really a good idea? We all still know he's not the most durable type, Morales still had to soak up a fair amount of half landed punches on arms, ribs, side of the head etc. I don't know if Khan is capable of that even if he had the ability to roll with punches and smother on the inside. At the moment he's a headless chicken on the inside so unless he's doing wonders in sparring its better to just stick with what he's okay at. Which is basically hiding behind handspeed and using his legs.
