pac shouldn't go beyond 147. There is a reason we have weight classes. Pac right now could still probably cut down to 135 and face world class comp. He should stay at 140-147, there are plenty of great fights there for him to finish his career, even if the Mayweather fight dont happen.

Simply, Martinez is too big and Pacquiao is way too small. Pacquiao may have displayed he still quite effective at the Super Welterweight division by winning a title at that weight class but it also shown he has reached his weight jumping limits. In fact, prior to the Margarito fight there are already plenty of reports that Pacquiao can't gain anymore weight without losing his biggest asset - his speed.

It's Marquez, not Pacquiao, who is desperately seeking for a 3rd fight so why should Pacquiao concede something? Pacquiao actually has little to gain by fighting Marquez again because he already holds an official win over Marquez and considering a 3rd fight would happen at 140 to 147 and when Marquez last fought around that weight he looked sluggish. Even if it happen at 140, Pacquiao would still get discredited because Marquez hasn't even fought at that weight class.

If that's the case why would he make JMM come up to 147 and fight him? as opposed to fighting at a weight they could both easily make, if he could get to 135 and face world class comp? Matter of fact why would he make any of the 140 guys come up to 147 for a fight if he can easily make 140?

Because Martinez would simply beat him.

Martinez is not a slow zombie like Margarito, he's a physically talented fighter with skills, also a southpaw coming into the ring in his 170s.

Roy moved up to fight for WBA HW title and then moved back down. What's wrong with that?

Not sure but even if he does beat the lineal mw champion he'll get slammed for fighting at a catchweight anyway.

Because he would KO Pac very easily.

He's way, way too big and skillful. He's not a one dimensional punching bag like Margo.

martinez needs to get his ass whooped by someone first, then pacquiao will fight him. but if he's not broken or bribed, then pacquiao wants none of him

Haters are funny, No logic watsoever :lol:

In Boxing there is this thing Called Weight Ranges

And its entirely possible that a fighter may KNOW what his weight limit is.. and what Booradley said

But we know you'll ignore the facts and carry on :good

    as you where

This is often repeated. Just after Marg fight, they realized Pac can be hurt seriously. They said this is the last fight of Pac above 147. They then abandoned the 154 belt. Note that this is before Martinez win over Williams.
