John's gone missing and the Bobfather doesn't want him to fight Gamboa. Not sure how you've came to that conclusion.

Berto will deal with this southpaw fairy... Kell Brook would beat both of these guys though.

If Berto is still there around the midway point he'll get to Ortiz and stop him.

I know Ortiz insists that he's not got the quitters mentality but the evidence is there for all to see. He had Maidana pretty much beaten, let him back in and ended up quitting..... then against Peterson was dominating until he decided to coast and ended up with a draw.

As much as Golden Girl and HBO try to push this kid he just doesn't have it. If he does indeed lose I'd be surprised if he fought again. He's been paid too much money too early and it's gotten to his head. No desire anymore.

His Brook posts are nearly as bad as your Ortiz posts.

Berto must be one of the most disliked fighters in boxing right now, he got given a green strap, has been placed in witness protection and is getting payed much more cheese then fighters who are more deserving.

It looked like his people were actually gonna step him up, then he ran into Collazo...His handlers got scared by that and have handled him with kid gloves. They don't wonna risk it now until it's for something big. They better becareful what they wish for though, because one day Berto is gonna get into a situation that he's not ready for and he won't cope well, as he hasn't been there before. I do think Berto can fight and has a lot of talent, but i just can't get past this soft approach with him.

Ortiz has all the physical tools to be successful and he's a big puncher, but mentally he is just not cut out for this game. He doesn't fight because he wants to and i think Goldengirl have had enough, he's just so immature and mentally fragile it's ridiculous. I really think GBP are trying to cash out on him, I don't see why you would throw such a unassertive young fighter, who was so apprehensive against the likes of Campbell and Peterson in with someone like Berto at a higher weight. They've put a lot of money into him and i think they're trying to get some of it back.

I think Berto will be too much for Ortiz. Victor could suprise him as he's a big puncher, but i'll take Berto on a decision or late stoppage.

Ortiz would beat Berto if he didn't have Audley Harrison type mental makeup

    I don't think Ortiz would.

Only thing is though, i think Rios would max out at 140 and wouldn't be as effective and Ortiz seems to have outgrown light welter.

    Slip, great post :good

If Ortiz doesn't get Berto out very early (Berto seems very shaky then) then Berto catches him with some sharp, eye catching punches in the middle rounds and forces a stoppage.

I'd love Ortiz to do it. But, as cruel as it is to say it from the comfort of my iPhone, but he's not quite a real fighter. He's not really arsed about really digging in by the looks of it. Shame.

Can someone post the vid' or Cosme Rivera nearly sparking Berto? He was BADLY hurt, and lucky it was at the end of the round (IIRC)

Agreed, Rios seems a Margo-esque fighter that will struggle to put his will on people the same size/bigger than him.

Is it just me or does Rios fight exactly like a smaller Angulo????
