I think that he has a good chance, because i see this as a large step up for Berto - he may be older (is he?) but Ortiz has been in with more top contenders, Maidana, Harris, Lamont to name some. Berto had a gift over Collazo !

Yordan has no chance of winning, but the kid is getting big experience with the opposition he's facing. He'll be competitive as well, Johns gas tank is shocking in the championship rounds :deal

Yordan can stick around to the end and lose a lopsided decision. He's a tough character and a real tryer.

i agree totally , ive just been watching videos of both fighters and i believe ortiz is by far the better boxer punches harder and is as fast , he also has a decent chin however , the only downfall is does he have the hunger and heart to get through a war

 

I wanna like Berto but i can't take to him. Berto looks dynamic at times, but we can't judge him on his soft comp. Also with fighters like him someone more rounded will get the better of him. They've done him no favours by handling him so softy. He's in a situation where he's like a kid who has never swam in his life and then one day he suddenly gets taken to deep waters without prep....he's gonna drown and that's what could end up happening to Berto.

When you're fighting scrubs you don't become dedicated to servicing the oil changes and you just end up polishing the rims for the showroom.

I still think his fast hands will keep Ortiz from setting his feet and sitting down on big power punches.

Oh, don't get me started on ole Cosme Rivera...

 

He's more a smaller Margarito, but yes he does throw some shots similar to Angulo, like his right hand he throws after measuring and almost extending his left hand.

I like Rios, he has just the attitude and approach for a pressure fighter. It's very difficult to be effective as a pressure fighter and those type of fighters who understand how to cut the ring, set an insane pace and take care of their feet are becoming extremely rare, it's definitely a dying art. We have a lot of pressure fighters, but not many who get it. Rios gets it. He knows how to walk his opponent down. To get what i mean, just look at the difference between the effectiveness of someone like Rios and someone who doesn't get it and that's Rocky Juarez. It's night and day.

At 130 he looks very good. He has just the right physicality to walk to someone, above that i don't think he'll be as effective. Pressure fighters, exept the special ones are notorious for struggling when they move up, because their physicality is so important and most of them lose that when they move up.

Cant wait for this. My head is telling me Berto but gut telling me Ortiz .

 

I rate Acosta as a pretty good puncher as well. Rios seems to have the vital element in maintaining that style: the beard :yep :bbb

Katsidis is past his best days, but he Vs Rios would be fantastic. As much as I've sung his praises over the years, Humberto would be outsized and outgunned, no way would he be able to take off rounds like he has done in recent years, and I doubt he'd be able to outmanouver Rios consistently enough to win rounds/last the distance.

Then again, I ain't seen the Antillon fight yet...but isn't rate Antillon too much beforehand?
