Boxing is not all skills.

 

Agree with much of this. They are all ELITE fighters, I think skills is what makes you that level, it's their other attributes that seperate them as fighters. Put it this way, If I had to mark them out of 10 on skill, they'd all score perfectly.

Money - Not enough skills to pay the bills apparently.

 

Realistically:1. Money 2. JMM 3. Pac. 4.El Terrible 5. MAB ! Zab doesn't earn a rating!

 

In terms of the conventional perception of "slick" skills:

Mayweather
Pacquiao/Barrera
Morales/JMM


In terms of what counts, raw effectiveness as an all-round fighter:

Pacquiao/Mayweather
Morales/Barrera
Marquez

They're all pretty damn skilled, though I think the two Mexicans MAB and EM are more textbook offensive, Mayweather more textbook defensive, JMM somewhere in the middle (closer to Floyd)

Pac's no textbook fighter but when he's able to beat guys much bigger than he is, he has to be doing something right

 

If JMM is more skilled than Pac, why did Pac beat him twice?
Now, PBF and Pac are different question and are yet to be proven.

May and Pac have their league of their own.

 

Pac beat him twice because he is stronger and way faster. Yes jmm is way more skilled than Pac, no doubt about. But Pac is more physically gifted. 1. Mayweather 2. Jmm 3. Morales 4. Pac 5. Barrera

Pac does a ton of mistakes as far as skill goes, but his almost supernatural physical ability give him the edge.

 

Take all their physical gifts away and have them rely solely on skills, who comes out on top?

2-JMM
3-Morales
4-MAB
5-Pac

That said, I dont think thats how skills work. There's different skills you apply to suit your physical attributes. Pac is very skilled at throwing unorthodox combinations and getting in and out quick, the ultimate ambush fighter, that said without his athletecism I dont think he would be able to pull it off at all.

PBF relies a lot on speed but IMO even without it, his timing is incredible.

JMM & MAB doesnt have any great physical attributes he relies on which is why they have a case for #1. Morales has an iron chin. Pac is explosive. PBF is fast.
