in the ring.does is stop them from hitting an opponent too hard for fear of killing again or does it give them tremendous confidence because they know their power? how about fighters that have killed outside the ring same questions. ie jake lamotta thought hed killed a man and when he found out he didnt in his autobiography he stated that he became less of a killer in the ring. i guess he meant the killer mentality. whatever that means.how many fighters can you name that have killed men in the ring? ie srr ,ezzard charles, max baer, lets hear em.

Joe Bugner killed someone early in his career.
In all his fights you cant help feeling he was there for the money, not to do serious damage

Barry mcguigan killed an opponent in the ring, early in his career. After Mcguigan won the world title against Pedroza he dedicated that fight to the opponent he killed.

In the cases I've heard, usually when a fighter had killed a man it took huge psychological toll on them and they rarely showed the same ferocity/killer instinct that got them there in the first place. Ray Mancini, for example.

I know Bob Fitzsimmons killed a couple of guys he faced, but I've never read what is feelings were about it.

As for current fighters, it appears that the majority of ring deaths are taking place in Asia right now. Former super flyweight beltholder Nobuo Nashiro killed a man he trained and sparred with early on in his career and was almost driven to retirement by the guilt.

I've never heard of a case where the fighter who killed another used it as a confidence boost or bragging rights- doesn't mean it never happened of course.
