Hold on, why isn't Jack 'Double Jab' Loew on the list? That's all being a trainer is about right? Telling someone to double the jab?
I think guys like Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Nazim Richardson and Kenny Adams deserve to be in there. Nacho, Roach and Steward are obviously ahead, they may not necessarily be the best trainers but they're obviously up there. There is no denying their records.
I agree with the top 3 so far... I think it just comes down to which fighter there working with, personalities, style etc etc.... For some it might be Steward,Nacho or Freddy... I thik there all on par with eachother. However i voted Nacho since alot of the guys hes trained, hes had since the beginning and didnt take over in the middle or later in the careers of fighters that were already world class.
I think both Mayweather Sr and Uncle Rog are overrated as trainers, I mean Sr doesn't have the greatest of records and looking at Uncle Rogers work with Said Ouali, I can't say he does a better job with a fairly talented fighter than Freddie Roach, Nacho or Steward. They live a fair bit on Floyd Jr's name. I could train Jr and he'd still beat everyone left and right, c'mon.
Oh ****! I meant to include Richardson! I can't believe I forgot him. atsch Yeah, and I honestly believe Naz deserves mention right up there with them and (for me) Roger Mayweather and Roger Bloodworth.
I dont have anything against Roger Mayweather, Roger Bloodworth is a good choice man. :good I think Roger is a better trainer than Floyd Sr, they both obviously know a lot about boxing.
I'm curious to see how Jesse Vargas works out with Uncle Roger, and I've always believed Bloodworth was a top trainer. He had guys like Andrew Golota and Fernando Varas when they were at their best. He just never had that signature fighter to give him the type of acclaim celebrated by others, IMHO.
I think Robert Garcia should be on their..... My guess is that in the next 10 yrs he will be considered as one of the premiere trainers in boxing......
