Unfortunately for him, the middleweight division is in a kind of phase at the moment where you have no real names turning out for him to beat, seems to me like he's in a bit of a ****ed situation, he's too big for the other top3 p4p'ers and he's too small for the 168lbs'ers.

So, at 154-160, who is out there for him? Pirog? That fight wouldn't sell.

The problem for him is Pacquiao and Mayweather both come out on fight night weighing everything between 145-154, whereas he comes in fightnight damn near 170lbs.

He won't be able to lure either Pac or Floyd into a fight at 154lbs, so who would you all like to see him fight next?

Sturm, if he decides to leave Germany.

Other than that, he can try to get Angulo again in Mexico. Not much at 160 for him, but he could make some decent fights at 154.

Problem is, outside Germany Sturm can't draw fleas.

The last two weeks have deleted two prospects who had serious potential in selling tickets, Kirkland and Lemieux, with them taking a step back perhaps the winner of N'Dam N'Jikam vs. Golovkin could possibly look at a fight down the horizone?

Angulo is the only one who seems viable at this moment in time.

Abraham is supposedly looking to go down to 160lbs after the S6 tournament, that could be a good fight, no? :think

Abraham looked lethargic in his last outing at 160lbs, who knows how well he can make the weight... but should he make the weight it's a fight that could potentially sell.

Doesn't matter if it can sell or not. It can't do any worse than his last fight against Dzinziruk. Where people in the arena couldn't even pronounce his name correctly. He has to fight Pirog or Sturm next.

Tavoris Cloud says he is willing 2 cut down to 168 if matinez is willing to move up to 168 that could be a very good fight perhaps a decent ppv event with a strong undercard

He needs to stop calling out smaller fighters and fight someone his own size.

Unfortunately, Martinez is in a TERRIBLE position. Realistically, he has no big name options. A rubber match with Williams or perhaps a rematch with Pavlik are probably his best bets.

Lemieux losing certainly didn't help Martinez, either.

He is too small for 168 and too big for guys like Pacquiao and Mayweather.

NOBODY held in that high regard is going to want anything to do with him which is sad, because Sergio is the man!

    :good:good

He's stuck in between, and has no realistic options to make him grow. He's not a young fighter who can have one or two years beating on people at 154-160lbs, I think he thrives on challenges, and may just go to 168lbs should he not land a significant fight at 154-160lbs.

168lbs could be bad for him, I think part of his game is surprising to his opponents, he has a lot of raw strength as both PWill and Dzinziruk found out.

If he Fights Mikkel Kessler at Super Middleweight or Bute. Either one would be a good test for Sergio.
